Meet Me At Turpin Meadow Ranch Today!
A few honored guests, vendors, volunteers, and JH Nordic Alliance members have already made the journey up to Turpin Meadow Ranch. The road report is that roads are dry and clear all the way from Wilson / Jackson to the Buffalo Valley Rd (BVR) turnoff. The BVR is barely snow covered and well maintained the last 10 miles to Turpin. Look for the large banner at the junction.
Parking is limited so we would like to encourage you all to carpool if you can! Also, don’t forget to sign the waiver below before you arrive so you can breeze through the check-in. If you are carpooling (and you’re not the one driving) you can even get it done on your way to the ranch!
Sign the Waiver for the Annual Free Event!

Trail Creek

A Little More!
Another inch has found its way onto the trails of Trail Creek in the past 24, slowly but surely making the skiing better and better! While there is more or less some sunshine as of report time, ethereal snowflakes also continue to fall, making for a lovely day to ski.
Another lovely skiing opportunity on January 7th is the JH Nordic Annual Free Ski Day at Turpin Meadow. The forecast for this Nordic extravaganza looks good and it will surely be a great chance for all Nordic enthusiasts to gather and have a great time.
You can also have a great time skiing today if you can come out to Trail Creek. Most every trail recently groomed received at least a single Ginzu skate pass with the Close Field, Armin’s, and Animal Farm receiving multiple passes and fresh classic tracks. While still not into full winter conditions, every inch of fresh snow brings us a bit closer.
Groomer’s choice for today is Armin’s.

Last Update: 12/11
Staff went up Game Creek on Saturday. Weekend storm was a bust. Snowmobile and pull behind took a real beating so we pulled out before getting into the sunny areas. We need 3-4” of wet snow or more fluffy snow to keep grooming.

Cache Creek Singletrack
Groomed by Friends of Pathways
Grooming As Needed
Last Update: 12/10
We groomed the Cache Creek road to Noker Mine and upper Hagen from bridge 5 to 2. The lower trails are still a little thin on snow, especially under the trees, but are still compact enough to use for now. We will keep snowshoeing around and packing things in until there is enough snow to take the roller through.

Grooming Daily
Last Update: 1/6
We ginzu groomed the skate track this am and the conditions are good for skate skiing (aside from a few thin corners/ditches). The classic track go a little bit of a refill from the new snow but we still are not able to groom new classic tracks until we get some snow. Hopefully things take a drastic turn this week. The forecast is showing 31″ in the 10 day outlook!
Shooting Star
Grooming As Needed
Last Update: 1/5
Rumors of snow are starting to happen! Look for light snow of 1-2” over the weekend, which should help freshen up the currently open sections. Despite the new snow, early season conditions persist and select trails will continue to remain closed for the time being. Outlook is calling for larger amounts of “dry/light” snowfall as frigid cold front arrives around Tuesday. Once heavier snow arrives, the trails will likely go through an awkward transitional phase, as snowfall amounts and drifting could be significant enough to make snowmobile grooming very difficult, yet not enough snow to utilize the Pistenbully snowcat. Next update will be Monday 1/8. Enjoy and let hope lots of snow next week!
- Trail conditions are early season. Please ski with caution as the snow profile is extremely thin.
- Walking is not allowed.
- No classic tracks will be set, and sporadic bare/brushy/exposed areas may be present.
- Grooming frequencies will be as needed to preserve the track.
- Sled Hill is Closed. Needs ample snow (2FT).
- Temporary closures of the Nordic Course may be needed until additional snow accumulates if severe melt occurs.
- Small game/scavenger animals may be present throughout the whole course. Use extra caution when skiing with dogs.
