About the Jackson Hole Nordic Alliance

The Jackson Hole Nordic Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Jackson, Wyoming, dedicated to connecting people with cross country skiing, fat biking, snowshoeing, and other human-powered winter trail recreation across Jackson Hole, Teton Valley, and Grand Teton National Park.

Collectively we are a bunch of Nordic enthusiasts who want to help more people get out on skinny skis because we love skiing! A lot! It is good for our hearts and souls, our strength, agility and longevity. A cross-country ski can be a calming respite or a super hard work-out. Nordic skiing connects us deeply to this place we love. In turn, connection inspires stewardship. And while Nordic was the impetus for this comprehensive community trails resource, we embrace fat biking, snowshoeing, winter trail running and walking, and dog walking too.

Our goal is to connect, inspire and inform our community and visitors to enjoy winter trails responsibly—to share the trails, respect wildlife, and plan and prepare for every adventure. The Nordic Alliance publishes real-time information and curates resources so you can access information on cross-country ski and winter trails, trail maps, grooming, and places to explore and have fun via human-powered recreation all in one place. We bring you local expertise and focus on sustainable, inclusive, winter trail recreation.

Jackson Hole, Teton Valley, and Grand Teton National Park offer endless possibilities for winter trail
recreation. The trails are easily accessible, everyone is welcome to use them and there is something for everyone to enjoy: groomed skate and classic track skiing, skier-tracked trails for touring, groomed single-track for fat biking, hard-packed forest service roads for multiple-use travel, and untracked backcountry trails. Winter is a beautiful time to explore the Greater Teton Region, whether for solitude, a social outing, a work-out, or discovery.

A community-driven organization, the Nordic Alliance, it's partners and enthusiasts serve as ambassadors for human-powered winter recreation and stewards of the places where our community recreates. We welcome your input, feedback, trail reports and winter trails contributions.

What the Nordic Alliance Does

• Maintains a searchable database of 100+ verified cross country ski, fat bike, and snowshoe trails across the Greater Tetons region.
• Publishes a Daily Trail Report each morning during the winter season with conditions, grooming status, and recommendations.
• Operates a real-time grooming map fed by partner grooming organizations including TVTAP, Teton County Parks & Recreation, Grand Teton National Park, Bridger-Teton National Forest, Friends of Pathways, and the local Nordic centers.
• Curates featured tours, gear and lesson resources, and how-to content for skiers and winter trail users of every level.
• Hosts events and partners with local nonprofits, land managers, and grooming organizations to support sustainable winter recreation.
• Recognizes the volunteers, partners, and businesses that make the trail network possible through the Trailblazers and Business Sponsors programs.
