Nordic Centers & Groomed Trail Systems
Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Teton Valley, Idaho, are great for Nordic skiing! There are so many different places to get outside on winter trails. Higher elevation trails get snow earlier, and usually ski well into April. The park road in Grand Teton National Park is an iconic ski and has some of the best views of any Nordic trail. On a windy day, tucking in to Trail Creek or Southern Valley Trails makes for a pleasant protected ski. May Park, Cache Creek, the School Loops and Teton Reserve Nordic are easy to get to for a quick lunchtime ski. And there are several dedicated groomed fat bike trails.
What we are referring to as Nordic Centers have buildings and or staff, while Trail Systems are the jumping-off points for a colelction of groomed trails, most often with no buildings or infrastructure. Many trail systems do have vault or portable toilets.
Trails that require a day use or season pass are noted. All of these tracks are maintained by dedicated groomers. Please purchase your trail pass (most are on the honor system) and support trail grooming.

Jackson and Wilson, Wyoming
Cache Creek Nordic
Cache Creek is a local favorite, with easy access from Jackson, regular grooming for skate and classic skiers, and skier-tracked trails beyond the groomed track. Fat bikes, snowmobiles, snowshoes, dogs and walkers all share this trail system. Please remember to be courteous, keep dogs on leash from car to first mile, and pay attention to mulit-use trail etiquette. ~15km out and back.

Cache Creek Single Track
Sharing some trails with Cache Creek Nordic, along with dedicated singletrack routes groomed by Friends of Pathways (FOP). FOP grooms on an as-needed basis, depending on conditions. This is a well-loved area and gets taken care of well by the groomers. ~20km of singletrack.
1 mile east of Jackson Town Square, the trailhead is located at the Cache Creek Forest Service parking area.

Emily's Pond Levee /Snake River Dike NE
Emily’s Pond Levee, also known as the Dike, is a popular local trail located on the shore of the Snake River. It's easily accessible from Jackson and Wilson, near the Wilson Bridge on Hwy 22. The trail is flat and well-maintained. It's a great spot for a quick workout, whether you prefer skate or classic skiing. ~5km out and back. Please pick up all dog poop to protect feet, skis, bike tires and our water quality.

Grand Teton National Park
An iconic ski. In the winter months the Park road, which runs along the base of the Tetons, is groomed for classic, skate, snowshoeing and walking. A full out and back lap is ~45km, and you can have a great ski over just a part of the distance. Nordic ski ambassadors are on the trail daily between the Taggart Lake parking area and Jenny Lake. You will need a park pass to get to the parking area.

Shooting Star Nordic
Shooting Star Nordic Track offers 15km of dog-friendly, gentle rolling terrain with both classic and skate lanes groomed daily. Rental equipment and lessons are available through the Nordic Shop (same building as golf shop in summer). Beautiful views of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and the Teton Range. Season pass holders only.

Stilson Loop and Wilson Centennial Trail
The Stilson Loop is a short, easy loop adjacent to the Stilson Lot and the Wilson Centennial Trail in the southeast corner of the Wilson Meadows. The meadows are generally groomed twice a week and centrally located with good parking if you want to get in a quick ski (one full lap ~3km total) on the way to meeting a friend or heading for work. Parking is along the north edges of the Stilson Lot.

Teton Pines Nordic
Teton Pines offers both groomed classic and skate skiing over and around the summer golf course, with open views ranging from the Grand Teton in the north to Buck Mountain, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Teton Pass, and the Snake River Range to the south. The 16km of trails are made up of a series of loops, ranging from relatively flat to rolling rises and wooden bridges - easy to intermediate.

Teton Village and Gray Meadow Trails
The Teton Village Trail, sponsored by the Teton Village Association, is open to skiers, fat bikers, runners, walkers, and dogs on leash. ~12km if you ski all of it both directions. It runs from Teton Village north to the end of the bike path and south to the Lake Creek bridge. The Gray Meadow Trail, a partnership between Snake River Ranch and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, also starts at the Village and is a 3km+ meadow loop with stellar views to the north.

Town of Jackson
You really can ski in town! May Park and the School Loops offer short (+/- 1km each), flat quick laps when you just want to get out or are introducing a friend or family member to cross-country skiing.
May Park parking is near the corner of Hansen and Rancher, Jackson, WY.
Highschool Loops parking is on north side of Summit High School and on the east side of Colter Elementary School, Jackson, WY.

Trail Creek Nordic - Wilson, Wyoming
Home to the Jackson Hole Ski Club Nordic Program, weekday afternoons are a delightful chaos of skiers from the new Lollipoppers to the Comp Team, and everything in between. 14km of trails, groomed daily, include excellent hills, and a mix of meadows and forests. No dogs allowed.
Buy a $20 trail fee pass online or pay at the fee box on the front steps of the cabin. Please pay attention to parking signs on Trail Creek Road.

Teton Valley, Idaho and Alta, Wyoming
Alta Nordic
Multiple loops in the old farm fields amidst a lovely neighborhood give you the flexibility to ski a little bit or quite a bit. Combined distance is ~10km. Magnificent views of the Grand Teton, Grand Targhee Resort, and rolling fields to the north.
Alta Nordic Track is a skate and classic only trail.
Parking: 5 miles east of Driggs on Ski Hill Road. Parking is between the Alta School and St. Francis, or the playground off Targhee Towne Road, Alta, WY.

Driggs School Loops
As the name suggests, these trails are in the town of Driggs, between Teton High School and Middle School, with parking on the north side of Ross Avenue. Approximately 5km of open, mostly flat, terrain is groomed for skate and classic, open to dogs, walkers and fat bikers.

Grand Targhee Resort Nordic
The base of Grand Targhee sits at 7,850 feet so skiing here might feel like a little extra work, because it is! And the views, meadows, forests and snow are worth it. These loops are groomed for both classic and skate skiing, conditions dependent. ~15km of trails feature rolling hills, with some extended climbs. Snowshoeing is also popular. Stop by the Activity Center on the plaza to get your trail pass.

Horseshoe Canyon
The Horseshoe winter trails cover 900 acres of forested land at the head of Horseshoe Canyon in the northern Big Hole Mountains. Thanks to a generous gift from the Maytag family to the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, these trails offer over 10km of peaceful exploration for classic cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or even Alpine touring. And there is a yurt you can reserve for the night!

Sherman Park Winter Trails
This little, groomed track is located in Sherman Park near downtown Victor, Idaho. The trail offers excellent classic and skate skiing in the open area throughout the park, including through the baseball fields and over some of the features created for the summer cycle-cross track. Dogs are welcome. ~3km.

Southern Valley Nordic
Nestled towards the base of Teton Pass, on the west side, the Southern Valley Trails offer a gentler short loop around the campground road and a more stout long hill 5km loop. There is a cut off trail which makes for great laps, and TVTAP also grooms the paved pathway across the highway, accessed by a tunnel.

Teton Canyon
Iconic Teton views from the west side make this beautiful, and generally flat, out and back multi-use 10km trail a visitor and local favorite. The trail is groomed for skate and classic, and wide enough for walkers too. Walkers can enjoy the North Side Trail from the same parking area.

Southern Valley Single Track
20km of summer mountain bike trails become dedicated singletrack loops off the Mike Harris parking lot. Some of the singletrack winds in and out of the Nordic loop, making for easy multi-use and fun recreation for all. The grooming schedules overlap but are independent.

Teton Reserve Nordic
Teton Reserve Golf turns into a lovely rolling set of groomed loops for classic and skate in the winter. On a blue sky day these open meadows cannot be beat. Pay attention if there is wind, tracks can get blown in quickly. Now with loops on both sides of the road you can ski ~15km without repeats. No dogs and no off track skiing.

Moran, WY: Turpin Meadow Ranch
20km of winter trails on the ranch and the Bridger-Teton National Forest are groomed with options for classic, skate and fat biking. Situated on Buffalo Fork Creek in northern Jackson's Hole, the ranch and lodge offer a cozy, rustic experience, well worth the travel. Rentals, lessons, lodging, food and a welcoming dose of western ranch hospitality available alongside stunning views.

Pinedale, WY: Skyline Nordic & Sublette County Trails
Over 32km of Sublette County Nordic trails are groomed and maintained with county funding and volunteer support. Trails start along the Skyline Hwy, 10 minutes from Pinedale, with four trailheads that all link together on the way to White Pine Ski Area. Trails are free to use and open to multiple uses including skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking. Find grooming reports and more information at www.sublettetrails.org/winter-trails. Pinedale is also home to the super fun STAmpede in January, a 2.5km to 20km Nordic race.

West Yellowstone, MT: Rendezvous Trail System
The Rendezvous Ski Trails span 35km to 50km of trails, depending on time of year. Often the first groomed Nordic trails to open, these trails are home to the Yellowstone Ski Festival, beginning the weekend before Thanksgiving. Terrain through the pine forest is beautiful and rolling with some strong hills. Home to multiple races and a biathlon stadium, there are no dogs or fat bikes on trail and passes are required. Purchase passes at the trailhead kiosk.
