Women in the Tetons Nordic Ski Meet-Up

Thursday, January 18th
4PM at Stilson

Come get some tips and laughs while classic skiing. We will get some exert tips that we can all use and enjoy the new snow! 4pm meet up, you will need your own gear. Stay tuned for our skate ski meet.

More Snow = Better Skiing

This last storm cycle had the Nordic ski trail groomers of Jackson Hole and Teton Valley working overtime to transform dehydrated tracks into prime condition (thank you all!). Now that the snow has been shoveled, compressed, and made into beautiful corduroy skate lanes and classic tracks it’s time to get out there and ski! Check out our trails page for inspiration, with over 100 trails mapped and described there is something for everyone to enjoy.

We encourage you to try visiting somewhere new, maybe you’ll discover your next favorite place. And don’t forget, as a member of the JH Nordic community we value your perspective, please share a trail report (a short blurb and a photo) by emailing us at trailconditions@jhnordic.com.

New on the Blog: TMR – Adventure and Fine Dining Anytime

The Annual JHNordic Alliance Free Ski, Fat Bike, and Snowshoe Day brought the JHNordic community together and introduced people to Turpin Meadow Ranch (TMR) and human-powered winter activities on YOUR Bridger Teton National Forest public lands.

What blew the minds of our gracious hosts was how many people are under the impression that TMR is only open to the public during the free annual event. We are here to dispel that rumor and encourage you to show some love to one of our Alliance members by visiting on a regular day. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or you’re looking for a cozy getaway for the day, Turpin Meadow Ranch promises an unforgettable winter wonderland experience any day of their operating season (mid December to mid March).

Day Two Racing!
Saturday is day two of the three-day Johnny Curtis Memorial IMD Nordic, High Plains Nordic, and Wyoming High School race at Trail Creek.   Saturday’s venue was classic skiing with a start time around mid-morning.  Since Friday’s sunset, the snow and wind have pretty much stopped, and the evening classic tracks should be nice and firm for another fantastic day of racing!  Catch the shuttle and check it out.  All information is on the website.

Groomer’s choice for today is to cheer the racers.

The blowing and drifting of snow with pretty significant accumulations is going throw a wrench into our grooming efforts. With our PistenBully down we may not be able to get the snowmobile and pull behind around after this storm since we can’t keep up. Stay tuned for updates.

Grooming As Needed

Last Update: 1/13
We groomed the Cache Creek road to Noker Mine and upper Hagen from bridge 5 to 2.  The lower trails are still a little thin on snow, especially under the trees, but are still compact enough to use for now.  We will keep snowshoeing around and packing things in until there is enough snow to take the roller through.

Please help support trail grooming for the Cache Creek Single track trails by donating to the Friends of Pathways.  Visit: friendsofpathways.org/donate/ and leave the comment “Grooming” in the campaign section.

The trails are coming together nicely. Everything was groomed Saturday morning with the pisten bully and classic track was laid almost everywhere. There are still a few thin spots in the hills to watch out for, also be on the lookout for moose! They are hanging out on the trails and near the ski hut at the ranch. It’s going to be a wonderful weekend to come up to TMR for a day trip!

TMR is open to the public daily for skiing, meals, Nordic lessons, and tours! Call the office (307) 543-2000 or visit our website to book your adventure! Check out our live webcam for current conditions.

Sherman Park

Took 3 laps around the track with the roller to re-establish the trail. Expect soft conditions.

Sherman Park is home to multiuse trails and pathways. The cross country trails were designed for classic and skate ski. The singletrack trail is preferred for fat tire bikes with a minimum of 3.8 inch tires. There’s a fantastic paved and plowed pathway around the entire perimeter of the park with mutt mitt stations and trash cans for your 🐶 furry companions waste. Please use the paved pathway when snow conditions are soft. Post hole foot prints and dog tracks ruin the groomed trails. Lots of options for everybody.
