Lovin’ the Snow!

Both mother and child seemed to be having a good time, enjoying all the fresh snow at Trail Creek today.  This pair was actually part of a bigger group with multiple chariots being towed around the trails, what a great thing for families to do on a Sunday afternoon!

It would be great if you could also have a nice ski at Trail Creek this afternoon.  If you are lucky enough to make it out today, what you will discover is that the Husky has once again been hard at it, managing to cover every trail today with at least a single pass.  Most of the fields, Animal Farm, and Moose Loop also received double passes.  While skating will be a smidge soft today and you might find a few spots where the very deep snow has been going places where we really don’t want it to go, all in all, it should be a great day to ski!

It looks like nobody from the Valley was able to make it to the West Yellowstone Rendezvous yesterday although we did have good representation from Teton Valley; results are available here.  Thinking of racing, don’t forget the Skinny Skis Wydaho Nordic Race Series Season Finale which is at Trail Creek next Saturday.

Groomer’s choice for today is the still pretty narrow, but lovely Armin’s.

Last Update: 3/2

Update 3/2: 2-3ft of snow fell overnight… expect grooming to be ongoing through 10:30am. Skiers should expect soft conditions and windrows/bumps from the excess snow. Winds are likely to pick up around lunch. Enjoy the powder! Stay safe!

Rowdy winter conditions are expected this weekend. Keep up with the hourly forecast if you plan to brave the elements venture out on the Nordic trails. We’ll continue to do our best with recutting the trails each morning but anticipate the track to quickly receive new accumulations and drifting after grooming is complete. Stay safe and enjoy the snow!

  • Walking is not allowed.
  • Sled Hill is Open.

Turpin Meadow Ranch

Last Update: 3/2
We woke up to over 2′ of snow at the ranch this morning. Every trail has been packed but no classic track is set. We will eventually get to track packing the single track but today is not the day to fat bike, unless you head down the Buffalo Valley Road. Expect soft conditions everywhere. Today will be a great day for making your own trail and exploring the snowy woods, it’s down right breathtaking out there.

TMR is open to the public daily for skiing, meals, Nordic lessons, and tours! Call the office (307) 543-2000 or visit our website to book your adventure! Check out our live webcam for current conditions.

On Saturday, we did a pass with the Snow Rabbit, and then another pass with the Ginzu. The track is in decent shape. Of course, the skate lane is really soft. If the wind stays down and we don’t get too much new snow overnight, Sunday should be good classic skiing.

The Drift Run, Fat Bike, or Ski

March 8-10, 2024
Pinedale, Wyoming

For the last 100 years Wyoming cowboys have “drifted” their cattle each fall out of the mountains where they go to to the desert for the winter. In this epic event racers experience Wyoming– under Wyoming’s terms–Wyoming style. Choose a discipline–Ski, Bike, Run– then set out to complete the course before mother nature finds a way to finish it for you. It is still very much winter up here in March. The temperatures can be sub zero, the wind can be relentless, and snowfall can be measured in feet.

Courses from ½ k to 10 k means there’s something for everyone. Registration opens at 8am on race day. Suggested entry: $20. All proceeds go to Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club.
