Be sure to check the real-time grooming situation of your chosen trail by clicking the links above as trail grooming is dependent on conditions. Thank you groomers!
Groomer notes from Friends of Pathways on Cache singletrack: The trails are super compact and fast! When it’s high and dry, the trails stay good but show up red or black on Nordic Pulse. Will probably be back to grooming this weekend with the forecast.
Trip Report: Granite Hot Springs via Fat Bike
Five intrepid women didn’t let -15 temperatures keep them from enjoying the wonders of Granite Hot Springs on Sunday! Nothing like the promise of a hot soak to keep you motivated on the 19-mile out-and-back trail. Just watch out for the brown snow left by the sled dogs whizzing by!
Public Comment Opportunity:
‘E-Bike Use Designation on Select Jackson Area Trails’
The Jackson Ranger District is currently accepting public comments regarding the eMTB use project. This could have a significant impact on how and where we ride, so it is critical that the mountain biking community engages in this process. The USFS has proposed alternatives options in a Draft Environment Assessment, released on January 23, 2025:
“Alternative 1 proposes to manage e-bikes on specific trail systems for all three classes rather than Class 1 only and would focus e-bike use in a variety of areas already managed for motorized use”
This alternative combines elements of new trail development, adoption of non-system trails and roads, extended seasonal restrictions, and expanded access to Teton Pass trails currently managed and designated for bike use only.
Your input can help shape the future of e-bike access in the Teton. Click on the Draft Environmental Assessment and the USFS Project Page for more information.
The Jackson Ranger District will be hosting an in-person public open house at the District Office on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 5-7 pm to share more about the project and answer any questions. 340 N Cache St, Jackson, WY 83001.
