A Quiet Sunday!
After the hustle and bustle of the Moose Chase, Trail Creek seems very quiet this morning, the racecourse silent, waiting in anticipation to be returned to its natural state.
Today’s grooming was a single pass across most trails in the network; the race course has had classic tracks restored in most places, and areas that had been ungroomed this week were restored. Since many of them had not been groomed since the last snowfall, several were in very nice condition compared to the older snow of the race course; most notably Woolsey Woods, Mugs Meadow, and the loop left of the bottom of Faceplant I’ve taken to calling Déjà Vu. While most only got one pass, they should be a great glide.
Groomer’s choices for today are the recently re-added trails.

The course received heavy drifting overnight and we will be taking advantage of the additional snow coverage to do a mid-season refresh of sorts on the trails today. Aggressive grooming will be ongoing through 10am, with holes 3-9 being the last holes to worked over, which will likely begin around 830am. Today’s grooming will help set us up for the upcoming spring snow profile shift that typically occurs towards the end of the month. Skiing should be very enjoyable today and look for temps to get above 0*F around lunchtime.

The skate lane was reset with the ginzu in the afternoon 2/12. Monday afternoon the pisten bully will likely be out on the trails to rework some intersections that have gotten thin.

Remember, singletracks will be closed when there is more than 3 inches of snow in a 24 hour period.

Saturday morning I did my Sunday groom due to a schedule conflict. I was able to reset the skate track and left the classic track alone as it was in great shape. It should be a nice day with great conditions. Beware of the Moose on Yeti’s loop. There’s a big boy hanging out. Enjoy the glide.

Went out for an early Friday evening groom. Buffed out the skate lane and reset the right side classic track. I could not improve the left side classic track so I left it as is. The track should firm up nicely overnight. Enjoy!

Nordic Masters Clinic

The JHSC would like to encourage participants to pre-register/pre-pay for the clinics, including drop-ins.
Join us this winter season to increase your ski speed, stamina, and strength. Work on your technique and form with professional tips and exercises from USSA certified coaches. Stay and ski all day with your clinic ski pass at Teton Pines Nordic Center or Trail Creek Nordic Center (we will ski at both locations through out the winter to provide a variety of terrain and technique).
