Moose Chase Race TODAY!

The JH Ski & Snowboard Club is hosting the 28th Moose Chase presented by Skinny Skis on February 11th, 2023!   This historic community Nordic race has been held at Trail Creek for decades and is back after a 4 year hiatus.  Tons of athletes from the greater Teton area will be racing; we would love to see all families, club athletes, and Nordic community members on the start line to celebrate cross-country skiing in Jackson Hole. Registration is closed but come out and cheer/connect with friends!

ICYMI – JH Nordic Beers and Banter at JH History Museum Panel
Recording now available!

Hosted by the Jackson Hole History Museum and Morgan Jaoen (ED), featured an outstanding panel of long time Jackson Hole local Nordic skiers: Gwenn and Don Wadsworth, Sean O’Malley, Nancy Johnstone, Linda Merigliano.

“Last week’s program was magical, it was incredible to hear your stories and see you connect with the audience. The laughter, applause, and positive comments afterwards certainly indicate how much everyone enjoyed the program.”

A Quiet Pre-Race Day!
It’s a cool, quiet day at Trail Creek today. Moose and Squirrels were seen doing their moosey and squirrely things, largely undisturbed by the busy world of civilization. Perhaps that’s something to aspire to. Today’s grooming was a best-line pass of the Moose Chase course, as well as the East Fields. The Stadium has been groomed with race lanes as practice for tonight; to have the best course for tomorrow, tomorrow’s grooming will be taking place tonight at around 5PM. If you see the groomer running tonight, try not to leave any nasty tracks behind it, because they’ll set up overnight and be rock hard in the morning!

Groomer’s Choice is an easy ski of the Moose Chase course in preparation for tomorrow.

Shooting Star

Grooming Daily
Last Update: 2/9
The course received heavy drifting overnight and we will be taking advantage of the additional snow coverage to do a mid-season refresh of sorts on the trails today. Aggressive grooming will be ongoing through 10am, with holes 3-9 being the last holes to worked over, which will likely begin around 830am. Today’s grooming will help set us up for the upcoming spring snow profile shift that typically occurs towards the end of the month. Skiing should be very enjoyable today and look for temps to get above 0*F around lunchtime.

Please help support trail grooming in GTNP by donating to the Grand Teton National Park Foundation. It’s easy and encouraged. All you need to do is visit: GTNPF.org/donate/ and leave the comment “Nordic” in the designation section. There is the opportunity to leave a one time gift or reoccurring monthly donations in any amount.
