Trail Creek

Grooming Daily
Last Update: 1/28

A Wall of White!
Another wall of fluffy white flakes has descended upon Trail Creek, resetting everything to fresh, unmarked powder. Fortunately, the Husky was more than up to the challenge, rumbling through the woods and fields to create wonderful ski trails for everyone to enjoy. Today’s grooming covered almost every trail with at least one pass, as well as double passes on several woods trails such as Moose Loop, Armin’s, and Outward/Homeward Bound, as well as double passes on pretty much every fields trail.

As of this moment, the storms seem to be petering out for a bit, so hopefully grooming will persist at least through the daylight hours, though it was snowing heavily during the early morning, so some trails may have light accumulation, and Elk were spotted on Moose Loop! All things considered, it should be a quiet weekend, but a great time to ski, especially if you like a bit softer snow.

Best of luck to Steve on his surgery, let’s all hope he’s back in record time to retake control of his beloved trails!

Shooting Star

Grooming Daily
Last Update: 1/26
Beginning this evening a significant winter storm is forecasted to push through, bringing ample accumulations through early Sunday morning. Skiers should anticipate storm skiing if venturing out on the Nordic trails this Friday & Saturday, as drifting and heavy daytime snow accumulations will likely occur. Depending on severity of drifting, daily grooming efforts may also take longer than normal and likely finish around 10 am.  After this weather system passes, look for calm and colder temperatures to start out next week. Next update will be Monday 1/30. Stay safe and enjoy!

Please help support trail grooming in GTNP by donating to the Grand Teton National Park Foundation. It’s easy and encouraged. All you need to do is visit: GTNPF.org/donate/ and leave the comment “Nordic” in the designation section. There is the opportunity to leave a one time gift or reoccurring monthly donations in any amount.
