Trail Creek

Last Update 2/23
Friday Fun Day!
Maybe it’s the sunshine, maybe it’s the warm temps, maybe it’s because it’s Friday, but things have been pretty busy this morning at Trail Creek with a horde of skate skiers along with a gaggle of classic skiers out and about, enjoying the snow so far today.
Today’s grooming mission was to keep the spring-like conditions skiing nicely. As the Husky ventured forth, the fields were pretty hard and coming up wee bit chunky, but grooming mostly initiated in the woods which were softer and groomed more or less nicely. As the morning progressed and temps warmed, grooming shifted back to the fields, resulting in pretty nice conditions everywhere. Almost all trails received a fresh classic track with multiple passes in the fields, Olympic, Homeward and Outward Bound, Moose Loop, and Homesite.
It’s a busy weekend of racing, high school racers are at state championships in Casper, results will be posted soon most likely on the Wyoprep site, the webcam is running here. IMD racers are at the National Tune-up in Bozeman, results are streaming from the event website.
Finally pictured above are a couple of Moose Chase winners (the results are available now), 20K winner Zane Lindquist is above and 5K finisher Brot Coburn along with daughter Phoebe.
Groomer’s choice for today is Homesite.
