Christmas Brunch with a Nordic Twist
What’s better than Nordic skiing and brunch? Add an appearance by Santa and some of his friends and you’ve got yourself one magical day! Grab your skis, snowshoes, fat bikes, dogs, and loved ones and head on up to Turpin Meadow Ranch on Friday December 23 for a festive adventure with a special brunch menu from 11:30-2:30.

Millions of Sparkles!
Today is a great day to ski at Trail Creek with the sun powering through the continuously falling diamond dust to touch the snow surface itself, bursting forth in myriads of additional sparkles, creating a rather magical environment to accompany you on your Nordic ski. Not only will you find sparkly sunshine, if you do have the fortune to make it out today, you will also find lots of fresh Ginzu grooming.
Today’s grooming ended up reworking most of the classic tracks with 85% going in quite well and the remaining 15% being slightly variable. After classic tracks were laid down, the Ginzu went to work on the skate lanes making at least one additional pass on nearly every trail with multiple passes in the fields, Woolsey Woods, and most of the woods trails on private property. We’ve received about an inch of ultralight snow in the past 24 which has now been turned into pretty good skiing.
Many thanks to Coach Katie for sending some images back from the high school race in Pinedale. While racing is still happening today and final results haven’t yet been posted, Wyopreps has a good article about the weekend’s races and will probably be posting results shortly.
Groomer’s choice for today is a sparkly ski around Moose Loop.

12/16: Cache Creek Road Groomed
12/12: I smoothed all the trails out in Cache last night so they would be good for the week. Here are some suggestions for exploring the groomed trails:
Bikers – Go up Hagen Highway and down lower Ferrins, both the Lloyd’s Cut and Sink or Swim connectors are groomed for a shorter or longer loop option.
Hikers – Check out the Sidewalk trail near the trailhead, I am trying to keep the first 3 entrances groomed for short dog walking loops.
Skiers – Explore off of the Cache Road over to Hagen, all of the connectors at bridges 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are groomed.

Bonus groom Friday night…rolled out the 1-2 inches that it snowed after I groomed last night. Just two passes on skate lane, did not reset classic track as I thought it would come out worse. Join us this winter season to increase your ski speed, stamina, and strength. Work on your technique and form with professional tips and exercises from USSA certified coaches. Stay and ski all day with your clinic ski pass at Teton Pines Nordic Center or Trail Creek Nordic Center (we will ski at both locations through out the winter to provide a variety of terrain and technique).
