Local Dog Friendly Trails
Curious which trails in the area are great for you and your pooch? Some great local options include:
-Cache Creek-Game Creek
-Emily’s Pond
-Wilson Centennial
-Teton Village Pathway (even in GTNP – Taggart to Jenny Lake to Signal Mountain Trail is dog-friendly as long as your dog is on leash on the groomed road)
-Bridger-Teton National forest trails
To find even more (in Teton Valley or on many of the Bridger-Teton National forest trails), it’s easy to search on the JHNordic.com/trails/ web page, by clicking on the “dog” icon, then hit “search”. A full list of approximately 40 trails will be displayed. You can filter your search further by region, distance from Jackson, length of trail, and more.
We love our dogs in JH and TV. There are so many great choices out there, but remember to respect local leash laws and pick up after your pup!
38th Jackson Hole Downhill AND 45th Karen Oatey Pole Pedal Paddle: Registration Open
38th Jackson Hole Downhill
Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club has been hosting one of the few (if not the last!) open, non-sanctioned community downhill races for 38 years!
The course has been reviewed by the renowned Tommy Johnson, who visited in December to consult on the course set and features. The Downhill course will run from the top of the Crags to Moran trail – just inside the boundary of Grand Teton National Park! This year’s redesigned event has a new team racing component, which offers a high-powered, high-caliber event celebrating alpine ski racing in Jackson and beyond. The traditional community race that Jackson locals know and love is open to anyone and everyone with a need for speed.
All proceeds from the FCExcavation Jackson Hole Downhill supports JHSC’s exceptional programing, and provides opportunity for over 500 local student-athletes. Join Us!
Pole Pedal Paddle
Join in on the fun for this years’ Pole Pedal Paddle event, a Jackson Hole tradition where racers compete in in alpine skiing, cross country skiing, biking, and boating all in one race! The event raises money for the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club, a non-profit that provides affordable ski and snowboarding programs to local youth.

Top Ten Day!
Lots of blue sky, a nearly perfect -3ºC/27º 12:15 temperature, a gentle breeze, and 15+K’s of beautiful Nordic trails, this is about as good as it gets. There’s plenty of time yet today, grab those skis and enjoy some of the best!
Today’s Pisten Bully grooming covered nearly every trail with an initial skate/classic pass followed by an additional skate pass. The 1-2 inches of snow that fell overnight incorporated nicely and fell into some very nice lines of corduroy. Bases have also firmed nicely since the last big dump making for a top ten day if you can make it out.
Groomer’s choice for today is Moose Loop.

We received a little over 2 inches overnight in the Buffalo Valley. All in all it groomed out well this morning. We reset both classic and skate tracks. As the day warms and the sun comes out the skate track will be a little soft but will still be in great shape. Thursday is looking to be beautiful! Come ski or fat bike with us while the sun is out! Bring your dog!

The Nordic track is in great shape! Look for cold and calm conditions through Thursday followed by another round of snowy wintery weather over the weekend. As always, trails may become drifty after our morning grooming if the next weather system brings high winds. Enjoy all the new snow!

There are no other services available (ie. No lunch) though dinner is offered Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 5:30pm; Clubhouse amenities are reserved for members only.
We groom the track on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays

February is shaping up and although sun may peep through this afternoon and tomorrow, we have snow in the forecast for the remainder of the foreseeable future. 5% water to snow means that that fluffy stuff is going to be flying everywhere. Temperatures will near 17 degrees, but wind chill values could be as low as zero. Winds will be blowing N from 5-8mph.
Cross Country/Fat Bike 15k: XC OPEN (Last groomed 2/11/2020), Fat Bike CLOSED.
