Daily Nordic Trail Report — Jackson Hole, Teton Valley & Grand Teton National Park

The Daily Trail Report is a morning snapshot of Nordic trail conditions across the Tetons — what's groomed today, snow and weather, tour ideas, trail etiquette reminders and upcoming events for cross country skiing, fat biking and snowshoeing in Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park, Teton Valley and Togwotee Pass. It is written by the Nordic Alliance team and published every morning of the ski season, from the first grooming in December until the tracks melt out in late March or April.

Looking for a specific trail? Use the real-time grooming map for GPS-tracked grooming in the last 24 hours, or the trail database to search 100+ winter trails by activity, distance and dog policy. Want the report in your inbox? Subscribe to Fresh Tracks, the daily email.

Looking for lift-served ski conditions? This report covers Nordic and winter trails only. For Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Snow King or Grand Targhee alpine snow reports, see the resorts' own sites.

Daily Trail Report FAQ

When is the Daily Trail Report published?

Every morning of the cross country ski season — typically from the first grooming in mid-December through late March or April, depending on snow — usually before 8 a.m. Mountain time. In the off-season the Nordic Alliance publishes a monthly trail report instead.

Where can I find today's Nordic grooming for Jackson Hole?

Today's report at the top of this page lists what was groomed overnight and what is scheduled today. For GPS-tracked grooming as it happens, use the real-time grooming map, which covers Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park, Teton Valley, Togwotee Pass and West Yellowstone. The weekly grooming schedule shows which days each trail is normally groomed.

Does the report cover Grand Teton National Park trail conditions?

Yes. In winter the report covers the groomed Teton Park Road from Taggart Lake Trailhead toward Signal Mountain, plus skier-tracked routes such as Antelope Flats, Mormon Row, Two Ocean Lake and the lakes trails, with notes on snow, wind and wildlife closures. For official park road and closure status, check the National Park Service alerts page.

Does it cover Teton Valley, Idaho?

Yes. The report includes grooming and conditions for Teton Canyon, Alta Nordic Track, Grand Targhee Nordic Trails, Southern Valley, Teton Reserve, Sherman Park and the Driggs School Loops on the Idaho side of the Tetons, groomed mainly by Teton Valley Trails & Pathways (TVTAP) and Grand Targhee Resort.

Is this the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort snow report?

No. This is the Nordic and winter trails report — cross country skiing, fat biking and snowshoeing on groomed and skier-tracked trails. For lift-served alpine conditions, see the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Snow King or Grand Targhee snow reports.

How do I get the Daily Trail Report by email?

Sign up on the subscribe page and Fresh Tracks, the Daily Trail Report email, arrives in your inbox each morning of the season. It is free; the Nordic Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supported by donations and local partners.

Can I send in a trail report or photo?

Yes — community trip reports and photos are a big part of the Daily Trail Report. Email [email protected] with where you went, the date, conditions and a photo, and we may include it in the next report.
