Today! JH Ski Club Nordic Winter Carnival
February 8 | Trail Creek Nordic Center | 10am
The Carnival is designed to be a festive event and to celebrate the JHSC Nordic program. For many athletes on the Lollipipper, Teewinot, Development, and even Junior team, it will be their first opportunity to compete. It is the goal of the coaches and event organizers to make the event as low pressure and inviting as possible for newcomers to the sport.

In Case You Didn’t Notice…!
When it comes to favorite segments at Trail Creek, none rank higher than Gutflop, Faceplant, and Suicide and if you didn’t notice, 10K skiers will get to do all three once plus an extra lap on Gutflop. Don’t forget you still get to climb Grunt so it should nearly be Nordic nirvana if you’re able to make it out for tomorrow’s Nordic Carnival.
12:30 conditions today are continued snowfall with storm totals approaching the two feet range. The winds are staying on the light side and the temperature is right at freezing.
Today’s grooming was multiple passes of the race courses that will be skied tomorrow including the Nordic X course. Conditions are once again a bit soft, but it has been quite busy this morning and the predominant feature on the faces of the skiers has been smiles.
Groomer’s choice for today is a practice lap for tomorrow’s Nordic Carnival.

Extremely windy overnight last night. Reset all tracks this morning and the trails are skiing great today. Temperatures are expected to continue to drop throughout the day and night. Tomorrow should be another great ski day with clear skies predicted and lots of sunshine.

Grooming Today: High School Fields, Emilys Pond Levee, Wilson Centennial Pathway, Stilson
1pm: Cache and May park are groomed. Both are going to be soft especially Cache. Cache is already getting beat up. Game Creek cannot be groomed because the low elevation avy rating is at considerable. Three Creek will be groomed tomorrow to make up for missing it today.
11am: Since the pass opened we were able to get a few more employees over to help with in town snow removal so I am able to break off and groom cache Creek and May park. Cache Creek should be done around 1:00.

Snow, snow and more snow! Trails continue to groom our nicely each morning, but may likely become snow covered or drifty during the day as more snowy and windy weather is forecasted to last through Saturday. Calmer and sunnier conditions are expected to return this Sunday and remain through Wednesday. Enjoy the powder and stay safe!

Season Passes are available to non members for $100, passes can be picked up in the admin office at JHGTC M-F 9am-5pm or by calling 307.733.7787.
We purchased a new groomer 2 years ago so we do now have a set cross country track with enough room for skate skiers and/or fat bikes next to the set track.
There are no other services available (ie. No lunch) though dinner is offered Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 5:30pm; Clubhouse amenities are reserved for members only.
We groom the track on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
Grand Targhee Nordic & Fat Biking

Happy Friday to all my powder hounds out there! Today’s going to be another epic day at Grand Targhee. This storm keeps delivering, and if today’s prediction follows through, we’ll have another 10 inches by the end of the day and 10 more by tomorrow morning.

Nordic: Did the Golf Course and CCC trails last evening. Could be wind-blown, especially the Golf Course.
Fat Bike 1/30: Lower and upper Kelly Park single track have been groomed as of today. A good base is in place but remember with warmer temperatures adjust tire pressure accordingly to reduce chances of breaking through. Looks like a great weekend to get out and enjoy the wonderful Pinedale outdoors!
