“Last winter, we had a regular group of Nordic skiers, working on technique, tips, fun. After the clinic, we typically skied another lap of 2 around Teton Pines to work on our new skills. On alternate Thursdays, some of us met up to ski in other locations like Taggart to Jenny Lake in Grand Teton National Park. Really enjoyed the sessions, meeting new Nordic skiers!”

Soakin’ Up Some Rays!
This pair was enjoying the endless sunshine early this morning, hanging out on Moose Loop just basking in the sun. If you look closely at the pair you can see the one on the left is sporting some stylish yellow ear tags and even a beautiful GPS tracking collar, she must have a colorful history with Game and Fish.
If you too want to soak up some rays today, there is plenty of time and sunshine left for that to become reality today. As of 11:30 AM the initially cold temperatures are moving in a positive direction with the current temp being -16ºC/4ºF with calm winds and the amazing bluebird sky. Today’s grooming was once again with the Ginzu groomer which managed to make some serious headway turning the results of yesterday’s raging storm into some pretty nice ski conditions.
New classic tracks were set throughout the fields with a follow up of multiple skate passes. Woods classic tracks from yesterday are mostly in good condition but multiple Ginzu skate passes today have brought everything into a little soft but all in all quite nice condition.
Groomer’s choice for today is the sunny fields.

Extremely windy overnight last night. Reset all tracks this morning and the trails are skiing great today. Temperatures are expected to continue to drop throughout the day and night. Tomorrow should be another great ski day with clear skies predicted and lots of sunshine.

Grooming Today: Cache Creek, Wayne May Park, Game Creek, South Park Pathway
7am: The school fields are groomed and in variable shape due to drifting. I am a bit behind my typical schedule because of extra grooming required for the special olympics. Three creek will be groomed today instead of tomorrow due to special olympics. Levee is next.
9am: The levee is groomed and in ok shape. The majority of new snow was scoured off by the wind and left behind a very icy trail. After grooming the majority of the trail is firm and classic tracks are shallow especially after the first half mile. Stilson should be done around 11:00
This week the schedule will be slightly tweaked for grooming special olympics. The only change will be three creek pathway will be groomed Tuesday instead of Wednesday. Special olympics are Wednesday/Thursday at the school fields. Everything else will be on its regular schedule.

Storm skiing will be the theme for most of this week as multiple winter weather systems are expected to bring ample snow accumulations through Friday. Classic/touring style skiing will likely be your best bet, as drifty conditions could occur each day after our morning groom. Bundle up and have fun!

There are no other services available (ie. No lunch) though dinner is offered Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 5:30pm; Clubhouse amenities are reserved for members only.
We groom the track on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays

Bundle up and head to the mountain; we’re in for sunny skies and cold temperatures. It’s going to be a great day – a light dusting of snow, fresh corduroy, and sunny skies. Get out and enjoy the sunshine because as the week progresses, another storm approaches.

Pinedale

Nordic: All trails above groomed today except Flatline and Heart Attack. Bunch of new snow in the last 24 hours, wind-blown, 4″ to 4 feet. It really blew last night. Cold. 3F degrees now at 10AM at the Nordic Equipment Building. Was -30F when grooming Surveyor Park. The road and parking lots are plowed. Sun is shining. There is still some wildlife in the area – please give them their space. Enjoy the day. Thanks for pitching the poo!
Fat Bike 1/30: Lower and upper Kelly Park single track have been groomed as of today. A good base is in place but remember with warmer temperatures adjust tire pressure accordingly to reduce chances of breaking through. Looks like a great weekend to get out and enjoy the wonderful Pinedale outdoors!
