Have you Explored the CD Trail, Near Togwotee Pass?
CD Trail is in the northern section of Jackson Hole, near the west base of Togwotee Pass. The trail is in excellent groomed condition for XC classic skiing and fat biking, thanks to the grooming provided by Togwotee Mountain Lodge /WY State trails, mainly for snowmobile access into the northern Gros Ventres.
The CD Trail (aka Flagstaff Road) is a forest service road, offering a wide groomed trail, with reasonable grade, thus accessible to beginner and intermediate level fat bikers and skiers.
Tomorrow January 27 – Clinic with Olympian Erik Bjornsen at Teton Pines
Fresh off the World Cup, 2x Olympian with 7 years experience on the World Cup, Erik Bjornsen is offering clinic to those looking to improve their technique and all around skiing. This is an extraordinary opportunity to get help from the best. Come out at 10-11:30am in order to work on classic technique or join him from 12:30-2pm to work on skate technique, or both! Hang out and mingle in between.
$60 for classic or skate clinic, or $100 for both

Busy Week Coming Up!
Looking ahead to next weekend in addition to a silly little football game, our JHSC racers will be off to West Yellowstone for the second of three JNQ qualifiers, some of our high school racers will be off to Casper for a Wyoming High School Race and most likely quite a few of our citizen racers will be making the journey to Ketchum, ID for the Boulder Mountain Tour. Itchy feet or a little valley fever, you’ve got good excuses to go to West Yellowstone, Casper, or Sun Valley!
Closer to home you’ll still be able to find plenty of good skiing here at Trail Creek. The Pisten Bully was hard at it yesterday making rounds through most of the trails. The basic agenda today was fresh classic tracks and skate lanes in the fields with fresh skate lanes only in the woods as the classic tracks are still in pretty nice shape. The close field even received double classic tracks yesterday.

Yesterday groomed out very nicely. We are getting snow this afternoon as I am writing this, and I plan to reset everything tomorrow with the Bully. Trails will be open all day today with lunch being served 11:30 to 2 pm. The lodge will be closing at 3pm for a private party.

Season Passes are available to non members for $100, passes can be picked up in the admin office at JHGTC M-F 9am-5pm or by calling 307.733.7787.
We purchased a new groomer 2 years ago so we do now have a set cross country track with enough room for skate skiers and/or fat bikes next to the set track.
There are no other services available (ie. No lunch) though dinner is offered Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 5:30pm; Clubhouse amenities are reserved for members only.
We groom the track on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays

Nordic: Half Moon Tie-In, Kelly Park, Kelly Tie-In, Powerline, Upper and Lower Surveyors, Moose Ridge, Heart Attack, Flatline, Tree Loop, Old Road Trail, Aspen, and Looney Lane all freshly groomed this morning. 23F degrees with a dusting of new snow. Thanks to the folks for pitching the poo – it helps a bunch.
Fat Bike 1/10: The High School Ski Race starts at noon in Upper Surveyor Park today. Mass start, should be fun to watch. Freshly groomed this morning for both classic and skating are Half Moon Tie-In, Kelly Park, Kelly Tie-In, Upper & Lower Surveyor, Moose Ridge, Tree Loop, Powerline and Old Road Trail. Aspen and Looney Lane are flat groomed. Cold this morning, -10F degrees, now is 10F degrees. Couple inches of fresh snow this morning. Golf Course and CCC trails should be in pretty good shape. Sure do appreciate folks cleaning up after their pets. Still a number of deer and moose around – please keep pets under control. Saw a herd of elk on the way up this morning, but they are not on the trails yet.
