Hints of Spring!
The days are getting noticeably longer, the sun is shining today with notably more intensity than a month ago, and the 11:45 temperature at 1ºC/34ºF is hinting at spring-like days to come. Even the breezy conditions make one think of spring time weather. Never fear however, there is still plenty of great Nordic skiing yet to be had this season, look at days like this as a double bonus, spring and winter all in one day.
Our Pisten Bully has developed another issue so for the moment we are grooming with the snow machines. Yesterday’s grooming was fresh classic tracks and skate lanes with the Ginzu groomer on all trails. A combination of breezy conditions and some challenging snow has resulted in classic tracks that are somewhat variable although all in all skate conditions are quite nice.

The levee is groomed and in good shape. Stilson will be done around 9:30. The school fields are groomed and ready to go. Grooming with resume on Monday with Cache Creek up to Noker Mine Draw.

We purchased a new groomer 2 years ago so we do now have a set cross country track with enough room for skate skiers and/or fat bikes next to the set track.
There are no other services available (ie. No lunch) though dinner is offered Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 5:30pm; Clubhouse amenities are reserved for members only.
We groom the track on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays

Nordic: Half Moon Tie-In, Kelly Park, Kelly Tie-In, Powerline, Upper and Lower Surveyors, Moose Ridge, Heart Attack, Flatline, Tree Loop, Old Road Trail, Aspen, and Looney Lane all freshly groomed this morning. 23F degrees with a dusting of new snow. Thanks to the folks for pitching the poo – it helps a bunch.
Fat Bike 1/10: The High School Ski Race starts at noon in Upper Surveyor Park today. Mass start, should be fun to watch. Freshly groomed this morning for both classic and skating are Half Moon Tie-In, Kelly Park, Kelly Tie-In, Upper & Lower Surveyor, Moose Ridge, Tree Loop, Powerline and Old Road Trail. Aspen and Looney Lane are flat groomed. Cold this morning, -10F degrees, now is 10F degrees. Couple inches of fresh snow this morning. Golf Course and CCC trails should be in pretty good shape. Sure do appreciate folks cleaning up after their pets. Still a number of deer and moose around – please keep pets under control. Saw a herd of elk on the way up this morning, but they are not on the trails yet.
