Stealthy Ski Skills

New Nordic skiers learn the sport through fun and games.

A new Nordic program helps cultivate a love for Nordic skiing through a mixture of skills building, play and accessibility. The 8 week program provides ski equipment for all the kids, and creates an affordable way to get kids outside.

Thanks to George and Ramona at 22 Nordic, Cory with Teton County/ Jackson Parks & Recreation Programs,  and JH Ski Club Nordic program for coaching tips, and instructors. This Nordic ski program for our youth was truly a team and community effort.

Trail Creek Nordic

An Absolutely Splendid Idea!
Pack your thermos of cocoa, a sandwich or a wrap; don’t forget your fruit, and head on out to Café Sam and have yourself a picnic.  There’s nothing quite like the savory delight of some delectable morsels after you have truly earned them by performing on your Nordic skis.  The addition of a Nordic picnic to your agenda sometime in the upcoming days is a guaranteed winner!

If your agenda includes a ski at Trail Creek today you will not be disappointed.  It is a lovely calm and mostly sunny day with the 11 AM temperature a very comfortable -4ºC/25ºC.

Today’s grooming was a Pisten Bully skate pass through all major trails along with a rework of the classic tracks in the close fields.  Classic tracks that weren’t touched today are still in really nice shape making for great skiing whatever your technique.

Groomer’s choice for today is to try the Nordic X course.

Don’t worry everyone, I called all of your employers and called you out sick so you can come ski today! You can thank me later when you bring your dog up to Turpin. The trails are all hard packed and ready for a good ski, and the mountains are out in full force as well. Stay classy, Jackson Hole.

**Reminder** *Our lodge and restaurant will be closed this Saturday Feb. 29 for a private event. All trails will remain open and groomed. We will have full lunch service Friday and Sunday

It looks to be another great week of Nordic skiing. Outside of Monday, which breezy and drifty conditions are likely, expect calm conditions through Friday. Enjoy and look out for moose on the trails!

Teton Village Pathway Trail

Update: 2/22

Teton village pathway trail – groomed on Tuesday. Firm, packed snow.

Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis Club

Update: 2/22

Skier Update: Trail is ‘ groomed’ – not perfectly smooth corduroy, more “flattened and rolled”. Occasionally, there is a classic cross-country track, sometimes not. Certainly a nice hour and bit around the golf course with great views, a fun place to ski if you are looking for a new flat, groomed trail to try out.

Groomed with classic track on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
