Access:

Starting from Jackson, head west on Hwy 22 over Teton Pass to Victor, ID. Drive north on ID Hwy 33 to Driggs. Turn right at Ski Hill Rd and continue for approximately 10 miles to the Grand Targhee Resort base parking lot.

Description:

Grand Targhee’s Nordic trails offer four loops: The Hamster Loop (near the resort base), Snowdrift, Rick’s Basin, and Quakie Ridge. These loops cater to varying skill levels, from beginner to advanced, and are groomed for both classic and skate skiing. The trails feature rolling hills and provide plenty of variety and exercise.

Fee: $20.00 for Adults; $15.00 for Seniors (65+); $10.00 for Juniors (6-12)

Skiing Experience: The Grand Targhee Nordic trails are suitable for classic and skate skiing. The groomed trails traverse through picturesque spruce-fir forests, promising a peaceful and enjoyable experience.

Directions:

Beginnings: Begin your journey at the Grand Targhee Ski and Snowboard school hut. You can leave your boots at the hut and pay the $20 trail fee there,guest services or any ticket cabin. From the Base area, head down the bunny hill to #1 junction behind the Shoshone lift. Take the Nordic Connector trail (heading north) to access the main part of the Nordic trail system.

Alternatively: you can opt to start with the Hamster Loop on the left for a warm-up, then proceed to the Connector Loop to access the longer trails. Some skiers prefer to include the Hamster Loop at the end.

Views: At the top of Quakie Ridge, you can enjoy far-reaching views to the west on clear days.

Trail Options: The option to ski each of the loops in either direction adds variety. Snowdrift and Rick’s Basin Loops are rated intermediate, while Quakie Ridge is rated as "advanced."

Winter Grooming: Grooming of the trails is conducted on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, unless excessive snowfall hinders the process. Trail reports are available at GrandTarghee.com.

A Note for:

Dog Owners: Dogs are not allowed on these trails.

Fat Bikers: Fat bikes are allowed, but specific rules must be followed, including staying on designated trails and adhering to specific tire size requirements.

Summer Hikers: These trails can also be hiked during the summer months, but please be cautious as they are popular mountain biking trails. Be alert and yield to bikers when necessary.
