It’s our biggest event of the year! We hope to see your smiling faces out at Turpin Meadow Ranch this morning starting at 10am. Come out to ski, bike, or snowshoe all the freshly groomed trails – FOR FREE! Below are a few highlights of what we have in store for you:
- The roads are plowed and clear
- Turpin Meadow Ranch has made special plans for extra parking

- Freshly groomed trails – over 12 miles!
- Nordic Alliance sponsors have plenty of fat bikes, new skate and classic demo skis, junior and kids skis

Sandbag Race!
Sandbag Race today at 10:30 AM at Trail Creek. Come on out for a great day of Nordic racing and camaraderie! Course is being set early this morning in anticipation of some interesting weather but should be a great event, don’t miss it!

FREE SKI DAY IS TODAY!! (1/5/20) Come to Turpin to ski, bike, or snowshoe all of our freshly groomed trails today! FOR FREE! We reset the classic track last night (1/4) so it would firm up overnight and be ready for everyone today. We laid down some fresh grooming on the skate lane this morning and overall the trails are at their absolute finest so far this year! Come to Turpin today and be apart of the best day of the entire winter! Bring your dog!

Conditions are great and the holiday crowds have thinned out. Come on out and ski!! We are in a bit of a snow cycle now, so come out early to take advantage of our early morning grooming. 9am-4pm daily.

The trails continue to groom out well each morning but may likely become drifted over in areas as a new winter storm is expected over the weekend. Anticipate breezy to very windy conditions on Friday and especially Saturday. Calmer weather should persist on Sunday. Bundle up!

A few updates on the Nordic Track and JHG&T.
Season Passes are available to non members for $100, passes can be picked up in the admin office at JHGTC M-F 9am-5pm or by calling 307.733.7787.
We purchased a new groomer 2 years ago so we do now have a set cross country track with enough room for skate skiers and/or fat bikes next to the set track.
There are no other services available (ie. No lunch) though dinner is offered Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 5:30pm; Clubhouse amenities are reserved for members only.
We groom the track on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays

Snow today, snow tomorrow, snow on Monday, snow forever! It’s looking like it will be a snowy week beginning today; with 1-3″ to start us out and consistent snowfall through next weekend, we’ve just jumped on the
powder train headed straight to pow town! Partly sunny skies in the morning will disappear underneath a background of falling snow in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain cold with a high near 26 and winds will be breezy, blowing somewhere between 16 and 24 mph for the duration of the day.

Nordic: Sunshiny, a little chilly, 8F degrees at the Nordic Warming Hut. Half Moon Tie-In, Kelly Park, Kelly Tie-In, Upper & Lower Surveyor, Powerline, Moose Ridge, Tree Loop, and Old Road Trail all fresh groomed this morning. 2-3 inches of new snow from yesterday. The road is plowed and snow packed, possibly slick. Parking should be plowed. Think the wind will blow today, bundle up. Beautiful morning.
Fat Bike: All Kelly Park fat bike single track has been groomed as of this morning and the trails are in great riding condition. This weekend should be perfect conditions!

Teton Ridge Classic (14.5, 24k Classic)
January 11 | Grand Targhee Nordic Trails
Long course: 24 km with 1425’ elevation gain;
Intermediate course: 14.5 km with 870’ elevation gain (compares to Teton Ridge Ranch course of 26 km/ 1680’ elevation gain and 13 km /840’ of elevation gain.
Kid’s races: 6.5 km and 2 km.
“Touring class” level so you can ski the course at your own pace.
Location: Grand Targhee Nordic Trails, Ski Hill Rd., Alta WY – Benefits both Teton Valley Trails and Pathways and Teton Valley Ski Education Foundation.
