Support Grooming in GTNP
Grand Teton National Park Foundation began grooming the Teton Park Road last week. We need your help to provide this experience to visitors through mid-March. Support grooming in Grand Teton TODAY.
This winter marks the seventh consecutive year that Grand Teton National Park Foundation has funded regular grooming of the Teton Park Road between the Taggart Lake and Signal Mountain trailheads.
The goal is to groom three days a week—weather depending—through mid-March. We have $15,000 left to raise to make this a reality.
Donate today to ensure that you and all park visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the magic of Grand Teton National Park this season.
Thank you and happy holidays!
Teton Village Pathway Trail Now Groomed
Trail is nicely groomed from Lake Creek to the north end of the pathway near the GTNP South entrance. Perfect for a nordic ski, fat bike, walk or run.
Monday, the pathway from Stilson north to Lake Creek was snow- covered, thus ok to ski or bike from Stilson all the way to Teton Village! We hope this section can remain snow covered/ packed. Send in yr reports, since this pathway we do not always receive an update on this section.
About the Trail
Teton Village Association sponsored, multi-use groomed winter trail from the heart of Teton Village north to the end of the bike path (just south of the Grand Teton National Park south entrance) and south to the Lake Creek bridge along Hwy 390 (the Moose-Wilson road). The trail is open to nordic skiers, fat bikers, runners, walkers, dogs on leash. Click here for the Trail Map!

Looking Ahead!
We’ve entered the main Nordic season time of the year and the upcoming schedule is nothing but thrilling and busy. The high school and many IMD racers will take the long trek to Happy Jack for Friday and Saturday’s Wyoming High School Nordic meet hosted by Laramie. Local racers have a great opportunity to gather, socialize, and race at Saturday’s Santa’s Relays at the Teton Pines, and don’t forget the Betty Woolsey Classic race is less than two weeks away here at Trail Creek. Amazing the Nordic opportunities we have living in our awesome community.
If you are looking for a little awesome Nordic skiing today, it is your lucky Tuesday. Come on out to Trail Creek and you’ll discover over 15 kilometers of fresh grooming. 11:30 AM conditions are clear, calm and with a temperature of -14ºC/7ºF.
Today’s grooming mission was primarily best line Pisten Bully skate passes. The recent benign weather has allowed trails to firm nicely and recent classic tracks are all in pretty good shape. The Nordic X course received additional grooming today and while not really skiable right now, tomorrow when all the new snow piles get leveled should provide the first opportunity for extreme Nordic thrill seekers.

All trails are open and skiing should be great through Wednesday. Early season conditions and occasional soft spots will continue to persist until more snow accumulates. Classic tracks will likely be set by this Wednesday or Thursday, as we’ll be continuing to compact and harvest snow onto the trails in the meantime. Also, the sled hill and snowshoeing areas are now open, which will both be on the soft side due to recent snows. Enjoy!

Blue skies are in the forecast today and Vitamin D awaits your consumption. On top of that – soft snow and high visibility! It will be colder today, with a high near 11 degrees. Wind chill values could be as low as negative 5. Now, don’t let that deter you, just throw on some more
warm stuff. Because, there are never ‘too cold days’, just ‘too little base layers’.
Cross Country/Fat Bike 15k: XC OPEN (Last groomed 12/15/2019, no classic), Fat Bike OPEN.
