Trip Report: Teton Springs
Whether you’re looking for nice groomed classic tracks, a wide skate track or a fat bike single track, Teton Springs is a beautiful option. Groomed on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays by TVTAP, it’s open views of southern Teton Valley, quiet trails (we saw 5 skiers during our 2 hr ski) and gentle flat to rolling terrain make it an excellent choice.
Quick access from Jackson as well as Teton Valley. No dogs allowed. Free (please consider donating at TVTAP.org to support their outstanding Teton Valley trail grooming).
Event Spotlight: JH Nordic Masters Recreational Clinic – Skate Ski Clinic
If you haven’t yet, here’s another chance to join us for a Recreational Master’s Clinic. Here’s the rundown:
What is it? The JH Nordic Rec Masters Program is for recreational skiers to improve their techniques, with an average of 10-13 skiers and 1-2 coaches per clinic. Useful tips and fun rounded out every session, more miles and time on both classic cross-country and skate skis.
Who is it for? The clinic is open to all, however, if you are a first time skier or beginner, we recommend taking a lesson or two from Teton Pines Nordic Center to get a strong foundation on your skills and technique.
What is the fee? Drop-in: $35 (includes Teton Pines full day trail pass) or
- Full Season (8 clinics): $225 (includes Teton Pines day trail pass)
- For exisiting Teton Pines season pass holders/TP members: $200
- $30 with Teton Pines Nordic season pass/Teton Pines members
- Free JHNordic neck gaiter “buff” to full season participants

Find Your Stride!
Today would be a great day to head on out to Trail Creek for a nice long Nordic stroll through a wintry landscape of woods and fields draped in copious amounts of ever increasing glorious snow.
Yesterday’s grooming was with the Pisten Bully and entailed an initial skate/classic pass of almost every trail followed by an additional skate only pass of all trails except for the ones on the National Forest. The Old Pass Road access was groomed as well. Skating will be a bit soft, but a good crowd has had nothing but smiles today!
Looking ahead the weekend after next is the state championships and the week after nationals. The Yellowstone Rendezvous is also just around the corner on March 7th.
Awesome news from Utah; 10 of our skiers qualified for nationals, what a group!

Six inches of new snow on trails when I groomed this morning, with more continuing to fall. Great day for a storm ski! All trails groomed out so perfectly, all to be buried until we groom again tomorrow. Bring your dog and enjoy a day with us this week as the weather continues to get sunier.

The Nordic track is in great shape! Look for cold and calm conditions through Thursday followed by another round of snowy wintery weather over the weekend. As always, trails may become drifty after our morning grooming if the next weather system brings high winds. Enjoy all the new snow!

Season Passes are available to non members for $100, passes can be picked up in the admin office at JHGTC M-F 9am-5pm or by calling 307.733.7787.
We purchased a new groomer 2 years ago so we do now have a set cross country track with enough room for skate skiers and/or fat bikes next to the set track.
There are no other services available (ie. No lunch) though dinner is offered Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 5:30pm; Clubhouse amenities are reserved for members only.
We groom the track on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays

Nordic:All trails above groomed this morning. 16F degrees and slight breeze. Road is plowed. Still a couple of moose up there, so give them their space. Thanks for doing your part in keeping the trails clean by pitching the poo.
