Just Announced: Olympian Erik Bjornsen to Join Nordic Master Skate Ski Clinic
A special guest will be joining this week’s Nordic Recreational Master Clinic. Two time Olympian and five time national title holder, Erik Bjornsen. This is an opportunity to ski with this two-time Olympian, as well as work on your technique at every level!
Join us on Thursday from 11:00 – 12:30 at Teton Pines.

Munger Mountain School Kids and Volunteers Ski Teton Pines Nordic
Munger Mountain school kids had a fun classic cross-country learn-to-ski outing to Teton Pines Nordic Center on Martin Luther King Day. Lots of fun, top effort and determination, gliding and sliding (and colorful ski outfits, too!) Thanks to the volunteers who helped the kids!

Squirrel Appreciation Day!
Even though our furry friends have been in somewhat of a dormant phase as of late in this cold and dark time of winter, there has been some squirrel activity today throughout the woods with the moderately warm temps of -5ºC/23ºF that we are experiencing today. Following this year’s theme of holiday storms, the Squirrel Appreciation Day storm is right on schedule, expected to move in this afternoon although amounts have been dwindling down to the 6 inch range.
Overnight we’ve received a heavy dusting of snow which was just enough to freshen the trails. The Pisten Bully’s journey today was basically a best line skate pass through almost every trail although the classic tracks were touched up on the Homeward Bound section. There is about a quarter inch of fresh in the classic tracks, but they are still crisp and nice and all in all skiing is very nice today.
One final note, if you are thinking of skiing the Boulder Mountain Tour this year on February 1st, the registration deadline is Sunday the 26th.
Groomer’s choice for today is to find a squirrel on a great Nordic ski outing.

Beware of the amazing snow snake!
Another great day for nordic skiing. The trails groomed out beautifully, I expect the same hard and fast conditions throughout the week. The fat bike single track trails are in perfect condition, great time to bring up your bike or try it out on one of ours. All of our trails are open to fat bikes and are all groomed daily.

A few updates on the Nordic Track and JHG&T.
Season Passes are available to non members for $100, passes can be picked up in the admin office at JHGTC M-F 9am-5pm or by calling 307.733.7787.
We purchased a new groomer 2 years ago so we do now have a set cross country track with enough room for skate skiers and/or fat bikes next to the set track.
There are no other services available (ie. No lunch) though dinner is offered Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 5:30pm; Clubhouse amenities are reserved for members only.
We groom the track on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays

Nordic:Half Moon Tie-In, Kelly Park, Kelly Tie-In, Upper and Lower Surveyors, Moose Ridge, Tree Loop, Powerline, and Old Road Trail all freshly groomed this morning.
Fat Bike 1/10: The High School Ski Race starts at noon in Upper Surveyor Park today. Mass start, should be fun to watch. Freshly groomed this morning for both classic and skating are Half Moon Tie-In, Kelly Park, Kelly Tie-In, Upper & Lower Surveyor, Moose Ridge, Tree Loop, Powerline and Old Road Trail. Aspen and Looney Lane are flat groomed. Cold this morning, -10F degrees, now is 10F degrees. Couple inches of fresh snow this morning. Golf Course and CCC trails should be in pretty good shape. Sure do appreciate folks cleaning up after their pets. Still a number of deer and moose around – please keep pets under control. Saw a herd of elk on the way up this morning, but they are not on the trails yet.
