Reminders for the last day of ski racing at Trail Creek!

  • There will be very little parking at Trail Creek.  Shuttle buses are running between Stilson and Trail Creek from 7:30am-5:30pm. All racers, spectators, families, siblings, friends, grandparents, fans, please use the shuttle.
  • Start lists and results are at this Zone 4 webpage
  • Course maps and more information is available at the JHSC event page.
  • The course is closed to skiing by the public all day today, however recreational skiers can recreate on the forest trails via the end of the Old Pass Road.

Are you looking for an adventure that offers easy to moderate skiing experience and is suitable for skiers of various skill levels? Might we suggest the Gros Ventre Road, East of Slide Lake. The trail begins after passing through a “closed Road” gate and offers gentle rises and falls, passing historic ranches like Goose Wing Ranch and Red Rocks Ranch. The trail, packed by periodic snowmobile tours, offers solitude amid the vastness of the valley. Pro-tip: the snowmobile traffic tends to be lighter during the week than on weekends. Maintained by the Bridger-Teton National Forest Service, the track extends over 15 miles beyond the last ranch, providing opportunities for extended overnight trips. Winter camping anyone? Fat biking is permitted on the groomed trail during winter months. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash.

Please respect Winter Wildlife Closure (WWC) areas by staying on the groomed trail/road, as indicated by signs along the trail. The Alkali winter elk feed ground approximately 9.5 miles from the trailhead offers chances to observe elk herds on the slopes of the Red Hills and ridges.

Responsible Nordic Skiing Looks Like This.. Know Before You Go

A Look Back at 2024 Bridger-Teton Forest Plan Revision Accomplishments

As part of the forest plan revision kick-off early in 2024, the Forest produced a story map and invited
the public to provide feedback about special places, values, trends, and important topics they think
the Forest should focus on for the future. One hundred twenty-seven people responded through the
online comment form. People who responded were mostly from communities near the Bridger-Teton, with some commenting from outside the area.

Did you know that one third of the groomed tracks and ski trails on the JH Nordic trail search page are on the Bridger-Teton? It is important for us forest visitors to be good stewards by staying up to speed on the Forest Plan and providing input during the different phases of the revision. You can help shape the future of the Bridger-Teton National Forest so together we can care for the land and serve people for generations to come. Visit the Bridger-Teton Plan Revision Hub to learn more.
