Featured Adventure: Togwotee Loop
If a long adventure ski has been on your bucket list for the winter, check out this 31 mile loop in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, on Togwotee Pass. Scott K. from Lander shared this loop that he completed Sunday: Great conditions. Had the place to myself. Some good crust skiing. Lots of burned forest.
The high level loop starts at Hwy 287 and Brooks Lake Road. The ski begins up the Brooks Lake road then follows the North Fork Snowmobile Trail clockwise, crossing over to Flagstaff Creek and the Flagstaff-Spread Creek Road, to the Two Ocean Basin Snowmobile Trail and back to the Brooks Lake Road.

We love to hear and see where you have been! Go for a ski and send us an email at trailconditions@jhnordic.com. Tell us a little about your route, what type of skis you skied on and send along a photo. Maybe your great ski today will be someone else’s fun adventure tomorrow.
Featured Area: Grand Targhee Nordic Trails.
Pretty soon Grand Targhee will be the only Nordic trails that are still groomed. With their high elevation meadows, mixed conifer forests and aspen glades, Grand Targhee keeps snow longer than any other groomed are in the region. They have about 10km this year and trails are typically groomed, and the classic track set, on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, conditions permitting. Current trail status can be found on the Lifts & Trails Report (Nordic is at the bottom). Please stop by the activity center in the main plaza to buy your day passes.

Info and Inspiration

Grooming in the woods wrapped up on the 31st, but reasonable skiing should be possible on the National Forest trails for some time to come.
The last adventure skier laying tracks in the woods could possibly take place a month from now, so while you will probably begin to focus on your running shoes, bicycle, or fishing rod, keep your skis handy for that one last great Nordic ski. Until some wintry November day when we get to do this all over again, best wishes.

Be a good steward!
Give moose, and all wildlife, extra space (at least 25 yards for moose). Winter is long. We can help support animals with respect and some peaceful quiet while we wait for spring
