And so says Bullwinkle, “I’m looking good, still sporting some serious head gear, ticks aren’t too bad yet, and the snow isn’t even really past my belly. The big problem is that the ladies are no longer taking me seriously, what’s a guy to do? Hey, there somebody that’s almost as good looking as me, I’ll show him a thing or two!”
A couple of bulls (not to mention quite a few more) were putting on quite a show today in the close field; if you ever see a whole bunch of moose tracks going round and round in circles it was probably such a pair with a little more energy than they needed. If you need a little action today, there’s not a better place to find it than with your Nordic skis at Trail Creek. We can safely say that we are close to being caught up today. The Pisten Bully was out making the rounds with double passes on all trails except a few on the National Forest which only received a single pass. While still just a smidge soft, things are looking almost as good as those bull moose think they look.
Conditions as of 12:45 are mostly sunny, a light breeze, and a Nordic friendly temperature of -6ºC/21ºF.
Turpin Meadow Ranch

Our Pisten Bully is currently down, but not for long! We are expecting it to be fixed this week. In the meantime, we will groom with the Ginzu. We reset the classic track this morning (1/14) and attempted to groom the skate lane to the best of our ability. We expect the skate lane to be back to normal by Wednesday (1/15). A good amount of snow overnight set us back just a little. We will groom extra with the Ginzu to make sure everything is in great shape for the rest of the week! Fat bike single track is being groomed as normal and is in great condition. Come see us this week! Bring your dog!

Come out early this weekend for fresh grooming. We will do our best to stay ahead of the heavy snowfall that will blanket the valley over the next week.
The shop is open 9am-4pm daily. We have some great deals on gear and will be selling off some of our used rental gear very soon to make room for a brand new rental fleet. Stay tuned for details on our used gear sale!

Have those sunglasses handy as rumors of sunshine are in the future forecast! Continued winds and persistent snow showers have deposited ample accumulations onto the trails over the past week. Future forecast is calling for calmer weather after Wednesday. Overall, the course continues to groom out excellent. Throughout this weekend expect softer conditions and possible drifting to occur after the morning groom if windy. Enjoy and cross your fingers this wind lets up!

A few updates on the Nordic Track and JHG&T.
Season Passes are available to non members for $100, passes can be picked up in the admin office at JHGTC M-F 9am-5pm or by calling 307.733.7787.
We purchased a new groomer 2 years ago so we do now have a set cross country track with enough room for skate skiers and/or fat bikes next to the set track.
There are no other services available (ie. No lunch) though dinner is offered Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 5:30pm; Clubhouse amenities are reserved for members only.
We groom the track on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays

Nordic:Approximately 12″ of new snow in the last 24 hours at the Warming Hut. Half Moon Tie-In, Kelly Park, Kelly Tie-In, Upper & Lower Surveyor, Powerline, Moose Ridge, Tree Loop, Flatline, Old Road Trail, Aspen and Looney Lane all groomed this morning. Going to the CCC Pond trails next. Not sure about Golf Course – will wait for better light. Road and parking lots plowed, snowpacked. Temp 21F degrees now.
Fat Bike 1/10: The High School Ski Race starts at noon in Upper Surveyor Park today. Mass start, should be fun to watch. Freshly groomed this morning for both classic and skating are Half Moon Tie-In, Kelly Park, Kelly Tie-In, Upper & Lower Surveyor, Moose Ridge, Tree Loop, Powerline and Old Road Trail. Aspen and Looney Lane are flat groomed. Cold this morning, -10F degrees, now is 10F degrees. Couple inches of fresh snow this morning. Golf Course and CCC trails should be in pretty good shape. Sure do appreciate folks cleaning up after their pets. Still a number of deer and moose around – please keep pets under control. Saw a herd of elk on the way up this morning, but they are not on the trails yet.
