From Jackson, West Yellowstone is a 2 1/2 hr drive, across Teton Pass, north through Driggs, Ashton, Island Park, into West Yellowstone. Trailhead is at the corner of Obsidian and Geyster Street (2 blocks south of the Holiday Inn.)

Description:

Explore the West Yellowstone Rendezvous Nordic Ski Trails, a groomed network spanning 35 to 50 kilometers of professionally maintained trails. Often the first groomed Nordic trails to open each year, these trails host the Yellowstone Ski Festival, beginning the weekend before Thanksgiving. The Deja View Trail, a delightful five-mile loop through a lodgepole pine forest, offers varied terrain with hills and dales, providing an excellent workout. Skiing it clockwise takes you past the Biathlon Stadium, where Nordic skiing and target shooting combine in a fascinating sport. Numerous side trails along the route connect to various other trails, including the Rendezvous Loop.

The Town: West Yellowstone offers a unique opportunity to access Yellowstone National Park via snowmobile and snow coach. The town provides ample accommodations, restaurants, and bars for a lively apres ski.

Skiing Experience: Enjoy a well-groomed trail system with a mix of terrain suitable for Nordic skiing, fat biking, and snowshoeing.

The trailhead is at the corner of Obsidian and Geyster Street. The trail offers engaging terrain, including hills and dales, providing a good workout. Connect to various side trails, including the Rendezvous Loop, for extended exploration. Retrace your route or explore connecting trails to return to the trailhead. For additional Nordic adventures, skier-tracked trails from West Yellowstone into Yellowstone National Park follow the Madison River.
