Description:

Rendezvous Park (R Park) is a charming community park on the banks of the Snake River, just north of the Wilson bike Bridge, and a short walk from Stilson. The park features open meadows, small hills, and berms, a lagoon, and borders a section of the Snake River Dike on its northwest side. The trail is a new loop that follows an olive green "paw-print" logo around the park's perimeter, with a short stretch up and back on the NW dike. Benches along the dike and pathway offer a perfect spot to enjoy the winter beauty of the Snake River and surrounding landscapes.

Parking: A small parking area is available with additional parking in the Stilson Lot. START Bus access is available via the Stilson stop.

Skiing Experience: XC skiing, snowshoeing, and walking are welcome on the trail. While there is no groomed track, tracks are likely to be present for guidance. The loop is mostly flat, with a short 20-foot uphill stretch to scramble up the dike on the northeast side.

Winter Grooming: The trail is not groomed, but tracks are often present. Exercise caution near the frozen lagoon, and do not venture onto the snow-covered ice unless certain it's frozen.

Nordic Skiers: XC skiing is permitted on the trail.

Dog Owners: Rendezvous Park (R Park) now lets you have dogs but on-leash on perimeter of the trails, please practice Leave No Trace and pack out everything with you.

Summer Conditions: In summer, R Park offers a delightful place for a short walk around the ponds, and boardwalks leading to the Snake River, picnics, gatherings, and relaxation under the shade of large trees.

Directions:

The trailhead is 10 yards east of the parking area. For START Bus users, access is available via the Stilson stop. A short 20-foot uphill stretch is encountered when scrambling up the dike on the northeast side. Follow the olive green “paw print” signs and enjoy scenic views of the Snake River and surrounding winter landscapes from benches along the dike. For extended exploration, cross the wood plank bridges on the north side of the park, connecting the trailhead/parking area with the dike, crossing several channels, and winding through rushes and willows up to the dike. Complete the loop by returning to the trailhead.
