Camina Conmigo gets back on XC skis with JH Nordic
A few of the Camina Conmigo leaders met up with several JH Nordic Alliance volunteers to warm up our classic cross country stride at Stilson Sunday morning. 2 nicely set classic tracks made for nice skiing and a good warmup for the season. A team relay game had us all laughing, what a fun group! Warm drinks for apres-ski at Persephone Westbank topped off the perfect morning.
Can’t wait for our next rendezvous to practice Spanish, ski, and have fun with new friends at the Annual Free Ski, Snowshoe, and Fat Bike Event at Turpin Meadow Ranch hosted by JH Nordic Alliance and partners!
Finding Somewhere New to Kick, Glide and Grin
As the snow is lightly falling outside my window I am day dreaming of my next ski adventure. I am longing to explore somewhere new to me, preferably an untracked loop where I can bring my dogs. To find my next favorite spot I did a trail search on the JH Nordic Trails Page. I selected my three requirements and 6 options appeared. Of my options I got most excited about The Horseshoe Trails in the Big Holes.
The Horseshoe Trails cover 900 acres of forested land at the head of Horseshoe Canyon in the northern Big Hole Mountains of Teton Valley, ID. Thanks to a generous gift from the Maytag family to the Caribou-Targhee USFS, these trails offer over 6 miles of peaceful exploration for classic cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or even Alpine touring skiing. These trails are suitable for all skill levels and dogs are welcome but be respectful of wildlife.
