Love is in the air today and there is so much to love about winter trails. Let me count the ways…

  1. fun ways to move your body
  2. opportunities for outdoor recreation
  3. majestic scenery nearly everywhere you look
  4. a great way to spend time with friends and loved ones
  5. a community of enthusiasts and professionals who love to get outside and encourage others to enjoy as well
  6. easy access to public lands
  7. the wildlife

Obviously this is not an exhaustive list, there are so many things to love! Today while you’re out on winter trails I encourage you to think about all the reasons that you love Jackson Hole and Teton Valley winter trails.

Mountain Weather is forecasting a sunny day today with chances of snow early next week. This weekend will be delightful for getting outside.

What’s Groomed Today?

Planned Saturday Grooming

Teton Canyon

Grand Targhee

Alta Nordic Track

Emily’s Pond

Daily Grooming

Shooting Star

Teton Pines

Trail Creek

Turpin Meadow Ranch

Grooming schedules have been in flux this season due to lack of new snow and warmer than normal temperatures. If fresh grooming makes a difference to your ski plans please check the most current information which can be found on our grooming page.

Groomer Updates

TCP|R

Bonus groom from Teton County Parks|Recreation! They were able to get out and groom Emily’s Pond / Snake River Levee and Game Creek Friday morning after a long hiatus due to insufficient snow. Word is that the Levee was great yesterday.

Turpin Meadow Ranch

The trails at Turpin Meadow Ranch continue to be consistently ideal. It’s a pretty drive with dreamy conditions waiting at the end of the journey.

Shooting Star

Wednesday’s sleeper snowstorm gave Shooting Star about 6+” of dry fluff and helped them get back to normal grooming operations with their snowmobile. All trails will be groomed, except for the ranch section, and no classic track set due to thin snow. Warmer temps are expected through the weekend, but this new snow should help keep trails skiable until next week’s forecasted snow cycle begins.

Teton Pines

The track is once again fully groomed and skiing should be good all the way through the weekend.

Trail Creek

The recent snow has covered the trail nicely and the forecast today is about as good as it gets in the Nordic world. The race course was groomed last night and should be wonderfully fast this morning. Regular full trail system grooming will resume tomorrow.

TVTAP

TVTAP has put in some extra grooming this week! Centennial pathway has been groomed for both skate and classic. Expect soft conditions until temperatures drop below freezing. Southern Valley Single Track was groomed BPA Road east and west from Mike Harris to Pole Canyon trailhead, Sherman Springs access, Nemo, and happy hour. Expect soft conditions until temperatures drop below freezing again. Southern Valley Nordic Trails were groomed Friday morning: All Campground and Yeti loops are groomed for skate and classic. Good results overall. Heads up for some rough spots on Campground Extension. Have fun!

Go have fun on your skis, snowshoes, fat bike or feet!
