NEW! GTNP Grooming 3 Days a Week Starting Sunday

Thanks to generous support from Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, State of Wyoming Recreational Trails Program, Skinny Skis, Dornan’s, and many individuals, GTNPF is pleased to add a third day of grooming per week for the remainder of the winter season.

The 14-mile stretch of road between Taggart Lake Trailhead and Signal Mountain in Grand Teton National Park will be groomed three times per week starting on Sunday, January 6. Adding another day to the previous Tuesday and Friday schedule will provide more consistent snow surfaces, especially for Nordic skiers. This winter marks the sixth consecutive season Grand Teton National Park Foundation (GTNPF) has funded regular grooming of the Teton Park Road. The road will be groomed between Taggart Lake Trailhead and South Jenny Lake on Tuesdays and Sundays, and the entire length to Signal Mountain on Fridays. When deep snow limits many park users’ abilities to explore Grand Teton, the groomed road creates easy access for cross country skiers, snowshoers, and walkers.

“We are pleased to be able to provide this resource to park visitors during winter,” Grand Teton National Park Foundation President Leslie Mattson said. “Grand Teton is spectacular this time of year and we hope people will take advantage of this unique opportunity to explore the park.”
Grooming will continue through mid-March. Be sure to check current conditions before you go, especially during stormy periods as grooming is weather and condition dependent. For updates visit or follow GTNPF on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.

Trail Creek Report
January 4th Grooming Report

Just a Great Day to Ski!

Today at Trail Creek you will find lots of great skiing.  As of 11:45 AM the skies are mostly sunny, the wind calm, and the inversion is trying hard to break up as the temperature is rapidly climbing through -12ºC/11ºF.  The recent snowfall has all firmed up nicely, pretty much every trail we ever groom has been set, and classic and skate tracks abound.

Today’s practice schedule calls for lots of classic skiing so the focus of today’s grooming favored classic tracks as well.  Pretty much all classic tracks received a Pisten Bully reset with additional skate grooming in the close field, and on the National Forest.  Where ever you ski today you will find nice conditions.

Groomer’s choice for today is Homesite.
