Trail Report from Teton Pines: The skate track is as good as it gets and the classic is good too but it is not being reset every morning. With the severe freeze/thaw cycles grooming the classic track in the morning does not allow it time to firm up, making it soft for awhile before it completely vaporizes when the heat turns on around noon. All ski venues in JH this time of the year are facing this challenge.
Take a Break Before Spring Break!

Spring break is not far off and you probably already have some awesome plans for the end of March/beginning of April. The thing is, there is good snow coverage right now and there are some lovely nearby getaways involving winter trails. So carpe diem, seize the day and enjoy some more winter trails!
Two of our JH Nordic staff got after it this past weekend with awesome itineraries and blue bird adventures. Read on and be inspired to enjoy the last bits of winter. Perhaps you will even want to take your own break before spring break! It’s not too late to start planning your winter trails getaway today.
Harriman State Park

Our Marketing and Communications Director, Heather D., went to Harriman State Park with some gal pals and was rewarded with fresh trails and bluebird skies. You too could step outside in the morning, coffee mug in hand to find freshly groomed skate and classic ski tracks just steps from your door. With 24 miles of connected trails there are endless areas to explore.
Whether you’re planning a getaway with friends, a family retreat, or a solo escape into nature, Harriman State Park in Island Park, Idaho, offers the perfect winter wonderland for all. If you’re looking for more inspiration to enjoy this adventure read our article “Stay The Ranch. Ski The Ranch – Harriman State Park, ID“

Turpin Meadow Ranch

One of our writers, Jenny G., and her cadre of gal pals spent two nights at Turpin Meadow Ranch. They enjoyed the Turpin ski trails the night they checked in and then headed for Grand Teton National Park on Saturday to ski 28 miles of the inner park road out and back, starting on the North end from Signal Mountain. The conditions were perfect for crust cruising and cruise they did! After their big adventure they knew there was a hearty meal, tasty beverages, and a comfy atmosphere waiting for them back at Turpin.

If you’d like to enjoy a similar adventure in the next 2 weeks Turpin is running a pretty sweet giveaway. Any new and existing March lodging reservations will be entered to win a 2026 winter trail pass, a new xc ski setup, and lunch for 2 at the lodge. And don’t forget about their Monday Fundays: 15% off lodging on Monday nights + 15% off Nordic rentals today and March 10.
