Transforming Snowy Landscapes into Playgrounds
There are those who get up extra early, brave the cold, and spend meticulous hours to make our winter adventures unforgettable. It’s the winter trail groomers we have to thank for pristine cross-country ski tracks, smooth snowshoe trails, or perfectly packed paths for fat biking. Their hard work turns snowy landscapes into magical playgrounds and their dedication keeps us moving, exploring, and enjoying the beauty of winter. Thank you to all of the winter trail groomers in Teton Valley and Jackson Hole!
The photo above is Parks & Rec’s new PB 100 in action Saturday morning, finishing up the Wilson Centennial Trail circuit. JH Nordic and the community sure appreciate all of the Town of Jackson and Teton County Parks and Rec teams do to provide grooming on free trails! We recognize the effort is quite substantial.
Trip Report: Lucas Fabian Historic Cabins
Thank you Nancy Leon for sharing these photos and the following trip report!
“Always such a joy to return to favorite places via XC skis, as winter begins and snow cover enables easy access. You can reach the Lucas Fabian cabins from the groomed trail on Teton Park road (about half way between Taggart trail head and Jenny Lake). Or ski in the west side of Cottonwood Creek via the meadows and woods.
A threesome from Pocatello were on their way to Jenny Lake via the meadows, stopping to admire the Grand Teton rising above. Our group loved learning about Geraldine Lucas, original settler of these cabins. Grooming for skate and classic skiing was excellent!”
