General Weather – Warm

Mountain Weather is forecasting warm temps and a little wintery weather returning on Monday. For a detailed daily forecast check out mountainweather.com.

Update from Trail Creek: March is surely coming in like a lamb with nothing but endless blues skies and rapidly warming temperatures. While the forecast is calling for a return to more winter-like conditions next week, if you like sun and warmth, this weekend is just the ticket!

Late Winter Grooming Operations Schedule

All good things must come to an end, and while there is still about 2.5 weeks of official winter left (the spring equinox is March 20, 2025) we want to share with you the anticipated last days of grooming for winter trails around Jackson and Teton Valley. Of course these dates are snow dependent so there is always a chance grooming ops might end early in some places. Whatever the case may be, please be sure to thank the groomers out there, they are working hard to keep your trails in good condition for as long as possible. If you’ve had any of these trails on your bucket list this season we recommend you get out and enjoy them while you can!

Some grooming operations rely on donations, if you are able and enjoy the “free” trails in the area, please consider making a donation to one of the following:

Crust Cruising

When the days are this warm and the nights are this cold, the skiing can be so good! We have a window for crust cruising this weekend so here are some reminders of crust cruising etiquette to start the spring off right:

  • Know where you are skiing and what kind of land it is (public or private and any special closures)
  • If it is private land you need to seek landowner permission before heading out to ski. Even if you have had landowner permission in the past, it’s always a good idea to follow up with them.
  • Understand winter range closures before skiing on public land (i.e. Teton Canyon has winter range closures off the groomed and designated trails).
  • If you are skiing at the Alta Nordic Track or Teton Reserve Ski Track, please stay on the groomed trails. TVTAP is indebted to the local homeowners for allowing grooming around their homes. Homeowners have asked that skiers please not crust cruise at these locations and stay on the groomed tracks.
  • Grand Teton National Park is a great place with wonderful views for crust cruising on public land!
  • Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, and have fun out there!
