Trail Report – Grand Teton National Park
On a gorgeously sunny day, The Teton Park Road (Taggart to Jenny Lake to Signal Mtn Trail), was a nexus of visitors and locals, enjoying the beauty, sun, big Teton views, easy access, freedom of the freshly groomed trail, kicking back for a picnic at Lucas Fabian cabins, visiting Jenny lake, and more..
GTNP Foundation’s Annual Shuttle & Ski
The event was held yesterday on a perfect winter’s day. Sun, no wind, strong ski group, hosted by GTNPF’s Ponteir S. and Mary P., with skis tips by local Nordic ski professional, Scotty M.
End of season grooming updates:
Monday March 11 – Last day for grooming (and lunch) at Turpin Meadow Ranch
Friday March 15 -Last day for GTNP grooming-Taggart to Signal Mtn (Teton park road)
Wednesday March 20th – Last day – Teton Pines Nordic grooming
Saturday -March 30th -Last grooming day for TC/J Parks & Rec trail grooming
Sunday March 31st – Trail Creek grooming -last day

Skiing Everywhere!
The image to the left was taken earlier this week part way up the side of Shadow Mountain. After a little bit of snow it looks like we will have many more awesome sunny days like this coming up where the entire valley will be your Nordic oyster.
Skiing is truly going on nearly everywhere possible today. Coach and Nordic Professional Rainer Kenny is the person in charge of this week’s USCSA race at Trail Creek and by all accounts things are going great. Looking to our own JHSC athletes some respectable finishes have been recorded at Kincaid Park in Anchorage, Alaska. Racing is ongoing later today and results can be viewed here. Trail Creek racing will be live today at this link and Alaska racing should be live later on either link 1 or link 2.
The next scheduled grooming for Trail Creek is a Thursday early morning groom of the field trails and many woods trails. Thursday is a practice day for USCSA athletes so all trails will be open to the public.
Groomer’s choice for today is to watch the race at Trail Creek and ski some to boot.

Last call: this was the closing weekend for Turpin’s winter season. Monday March 11 is the last day that trails will be groomed and lunch will be served this winter.
Big thanks to Turpin for hosting the Annual JH Nordic Alliance Free Nordic Ski, Fat Bike, Snowshoe day in January. Mark your calendar for the 4th Annual Free event next year on Sunday, January 5th 2020!!

10:40am: Game Creek is groomed and in good shape. I am about to start the Three Creek Pathway and should be done around 12:30.
7:55am: Cache Creek and Wayne May Park are groomed and in good shape. I’ll be heading to Game Creek shortly and should be done around 11:00.

Come out and ski!! The sun is out and the skate skiing is awesome!! The classic track is groomed but the skate conditions are better. The next few mornings will start with cold temps so we recommend waiting until mid-morning once things soften up. March is here, so expect the freeze thaw cycle to continue for the remainder of the season. We are open 9am-4pm daily. Please give us a call at: (307)733-1733 with questions.

Just finished grooming the Yeti. It always takes longer than anticipated…so much hair. Anyways, classic track is set for counter-clockwise skiing and the skate lane should be amazing. The trail is rather narrow so pay attention and stay in control.
