Daily Trail Report for 2.10.26.

My friend Melissa H. always says, “if you want cool things to happen in your small town, you must do cool things.” The JH Nordic Alliance is one of those cool things in my humble opinion, and you dear reader are a part of that!

At its heart the JH Nordic Alliance is a collaboration of community organizations and enthusiasts practicing and supporting Nordic skiing, fat biking, snowshoeing, and responsible winter trail recreation in Jackson Hole, Teton Valley, and the Greater Tetons. We connect, inspire and inform our community and visitors to enjoy winter trails responsibly, to share the trails, respect wildlife, and plan and prepare for every adventure.

More Than a Website

Eddy S. called the JH Nordic “hotline” (from the JHNA Google listing) to ask about ideas for a full range of trails in the Jackson Hole (JH), Teton Valley (TV), Grand Teton National Park areas. He and his wife had driven from Georgia to spend 2 weeks exploring our region by cross-country ski.

They stayed at Moose Creek Ranch in Victor, used the JHNordic.com Trails pages, maps, descriptions, blog posts with “Best of Nordic in JH and TV”, and most importantly, got out and skied in over a dozen locations!

He sent this recap yesterday: “Nancy, thanks for taking our call and providing us invaluable information with the Jackson Hole Nordic Alliance beyond the computer. As I told you, I would provide you with an update prior to us leaving town. These are the cross country ski trails that my wife and I completed. With your recommendation we stopped by the Teton Pines Country Club Nordic office and purchased the following book which was invaluable to assist us on journey beyond computer electronica.

I would say the most user-friendly trail for all levels was Teton Canyon Trail with the best 180° views.  The best trail for 360° views was Pine Creek Pass. The road to Mesa Falls was apparent, however the alongside cross country ski route was not evident even though I asked forest service official at the trailhead parking lot.

As always thanks for your kindness and expertise and feel free to utilize any information provided for betterment purposes.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

There are over 100 trails listed on JHNordic.com covering the most important information one would need to get out and explore them. In addition to getting directions to the trailhead and figuring out if you can bring your dog or not, you can also read or leave a review for each trail.

Karen D. reviewed the Signal Mountain trailon Sunday, February 8 and was happily surprised with the current conditions. Leaving a review is a great way to share your adventure with the JH Nordic community.
