At a Glance

General Weather – Mostly Sunny

Mountain Weather forecasts sunny days and clear nights continuing this week with a chance of snow returning late Thursday night.

What’s Groomed Today?

Planned Monday Grooming

Teton Canyon

Cache Creek

Daily grooming

Shooting Star

Teton Pines

Trail Creek

Turpin Meadow Ranch

Keep in mind that groomers will make the call on preserving snow, number of skiers since the last groom, overall conditions, etc. With these blue days and cold nights, the tracks are likely good even if they are more than 24 hours out from their last groom.

If super firm snow is not your preferred surface wait for the late morning or early afternoon when temps warm and snow conditions soften.

Check the grooming page – while we are getting closer to regular grooming, we are not there yet. We do our best to bring you the full story every morning, and the most current trail conditions can be viewed online at: www.jhnordic.com/grooming/

Community Trip Report: Two Oceans & Emma Matilda Lakes

Blue skies and big views from the skier tracked trail into Two Oceans & Emma Matilda Lakes

Sunny days with cool mornings warming into the 30s are ideal for exploring many of the skier-tracked Backcountry (BC) Nordic trails. Thanks to Nancy L. and friends for the report, photos, and the skier tracked trail that should be good to follow in the coming days.

“A group of friends met at the winter trailhead of Two Oceans Lake on the Pacific Creek road in Grand Teton National Park. We skied close to 7 miles in a loop of gentle rolling terrain, following the summer road to the west side of 2 Oceans Lake. The trail then heads south through the Bridger-Teton National Forest toward Emma Mathilda. Beautiful views of the Tetons emerge and a perfect spot for a picnic. Lots of moose tracks and signs of fox.”

For easier navigation we recommend using the JHNordic map with location dot “allowed.” When using your mobile device to access a trail page there is a little arrow within a circle on the bottom right corner of the map. When you click that button a blue dot should appear where you are on the map as long as you have location services allowed on your device.  Another option is to use an app such as Gaia to track your location.
