Backcountry Nordic in Action: A Phelps Lake Adventure
Yesterday, we highlighted some of the reasons to enjoy a backcountry Nordic (BCXC) ski and the prime conditions for off-trail adventures (see that article here). Nancy L. and friends inspired by the fresh snowfall, ventured into Grand Teton National Park, exploring the breathtaking terrain around Phelps Lake—and their experience did not disappoint!
“Mid-winter soft, deep powder on backcountry Nordic skis is an incredible way to explore the winter beauty and solitude of GTNP. Taking turns breaking parts of the trail from Phelps Lake back to the Moose-Wilson Road skier track allowed us to glide down the moraine hill with ease. Sun and blue skies added to the joy of being in the wilderness with friends.”
