Plowing Update
The road in Grand Teton National Park is plowed and clear to the exit of the one-way, just north of the Jenny Lake complex. If you are on the road (walking or with a bike) please give a wide berth (500 feet or more!) to any snow clearing operations. Also look for signage on the road for any additional directions.
Grooming Updates
Trail Creek Nordic
The International Spring Series races are being hosted at Trail Creek this weekend. Race grooming will happen in the evenings, with a last system wide grooming either Sunday evening or Monday morning depending on how the forecast develops.
Shooting Star
Spring skiing conditions will continue through this weekend as warmer weather is expected through Sunday. Reminder, that conditions may be icy during the morning hours and then gradually soften as temperatures warm. Outlook is calling for winter to return!
Teton Valley
When you read the grooming report this week, you will notice we have completed grooming for the season at Sherman Park, Driggs, and Teton Reserve tracks. At our other locations we will continue to try and groom when temperatures and conditions allow, for as long as possible. The grooming report will be the best place to see what’s been groomed and what the outlook is. We hope to continue grooming Teton Canyon and Southern Valley Nordic into April.
Classic and Skate are both great options for current conditions
Whether heading out early for a crust cruise, seeking out fresh corduroy or firm classic tracks, or putting on your metal edged fish scaled light touring skis, there are lots of places to explore and enjoy for the next several weeks.
We love to hear and see where you have been! Go for a ski and send us an email at trailconditions@jhnordic.com. Tell us a little about your route, what type of skis you skied on and send along a photo. Maybe your great ski today will be someone else’s route tomorrow.

Trip Report: A light Nordic tour in the Park.
Thanks to cold nights (22F Saturday morning) and warm days, the crust was nice and firm until noon. We chose classic skis and skied north from the Taggart parking area and crossed the Cottonwood Creek bridge. We continued on the east side of the paved road, skiing north to the edge of Timbered Island in total solitude. Our group felt awestruck by the vast open snow covered canvas of meadows and flat terrain, perfect for crust cruising in the magic window between hard frozen and punchy slush. We then explored east, skiing to the edge of the bench, overlooking the Snake River. Although it is not signed, remember to not ski down to the river level, as there are closures below the bench to protect winter wildlife habitat.

A morning skate ski crust cruise this past week, enjoying the beauty of the Tetons.
