JH Nordic Alliance Photo Contest for Next Season’s “Buff”
Get your best photos in now – Win 10 buffs with your photo!
The JH Nordic Alliance is looking for amazing photos or illustrations to become the image for the 2019-2020 Limited Edition JH Nordic Buff (neck gaiter). Images of Nordic skiing, wildlife, fat biking, winter trail fun, an iconic image of Jackson Hole, the Tetons. Images from this winter or past, or get out now while the crust cruising offers great photos!
The contest is open from April 1st to 17th – You may submit as many images as you like.
Email your image(s) to: info@jhnordic.com (with your name, email, contact tel.) by April 17th. You must be the owner of the image.
Winners will have their image featured on the JHNordic 2019-2020 neck gaiter, manufactured by local company Avalon 7. The final image will be selected by the JH Nordic Alliance, and may be graphically enhanced to add to a creative look. (N.B. image dimension is vertical, but may be a cropped part of an image).
Winner will receive 10 of the new 2019-2020 neck gaiters (value $200), and gives the JH Nordic Alliance full rights to use this image.

End of Season E-mail Schedule
JHNordic Daily and Weekend Trail Reports will be shifting to our off-season schedule starting April 1st. From April 1st to 15th, look for our mid-week Report on Tuesday morning and weekend report on Saturday. Off-season, we will provide updates as relevant news becomes available, likely every month or so. We welcome your off-season nordic, fat bike , Snowshoe stories, photos, videos, training & travel..Happy spring skiing, riding!!
End of season grooming updates:
Grooming finished for the season: Teton Pines, Turpin Meadow Ranch, GTNP Teton Park Road, Game Creek
Saturday -March 30th – TC/J Parks & Rec trails-last day of grooming – Game Creek is finished.
Saturday March 30th – Trail Creek grooming finished, West Yellowstone Rendezvous Trails-last day
Sunday April 7th – Shooting Star
Sunday April 14th – Grand Targhee (note: only skate track & fat bike tracks are groomed -no classic track
April TBD – Teton Canyon and Teton Valley TVTAP groomed trails (N.B. skiing may still be permitted once grooming has ceased: *Teton County/Jackson Trails and Pathways allow skiing, biking, walking all year long. Yeti’s Loop is done grooming for the season.

The final grooming was double Pisten Bully passes with fresh classic tracks of the perimeter of the fields and major woods trails, actually on a couple inches of fresh snow, enjoy it while it lasts and see you next year! – Steve Swan

8:40am: the levee and Stilson are groomed and in good shape. A reminder that this is the last day of grooming for the season so get out and enjoy the trails while you can! I will be heading to the school fields shortly and should be done around 10:30.

Grand Targhee Grooming Report

And, it’s April! There are exactly two weeks left in Grand Targhee’s ski season. That means two more weeks for us to see your smiling faces up the hill.
Cross Country/Fat Bike 15k: XC OPEN (Last groomed AM 3/31/2019, NO CLASSIC), Fat Bike OPEN.
*Note: Sorry to inform folks that the nordic grooming cat with our classic track setter has suffered mechanical issues that are not able to be resolved for the rest of the season. Consequently, there will be no more classic track grooming for the rest of the season. However, grooming of the skate track and fat bike trails will continue as conditions allow.
Pinedale Nordic Trail Report

Most of the multi-use trails above were groomed this morning including Half Moon Tie-In, most of Kelly Park, Kelly Tie-In, Lower Surveyor, Powerline, Old Road Trail. 26F degrees or so. Supposed to get warm today. If going up skiing, recommend going soon or waiting until about sundown. There is a moose right at the bottom of Kelly Tie-In trail on Willow Loop. Do not recommend going on that trail. She is not doing very good. Please avoid the moose – turn around and don’t go that way – there are other places can go.
Alta Track

I should be starting to groom by 1930 hrs tonight to capitalize on the soft conditions to set a new classic track. I’ll work on skate lane after the sun sets and hopefully temps will cool the snow quickly. I’m guessing the skiing should be good tomorrow morning, but check back as I’ll update when I’m done.

Just finished grooming the Yeti. It always takes longer than anticipated…so much hair. Anyways, classic track is set for counter-clockwise skiing and the skate lane should be amazing. The trail is rather narrow so pay attention and stay in control.
