Touring at Taggart

It was a gorgeous day on Sunday.  Many, many folks enjoying the sun and fresh snow in the park. Here are a few pics of our day touring up to Taggart Lake.

Thanks for the photos!

Moose Chase Highlights

It was a well attended event- ages 5 to 80, from JH and across the region. Fantastic efforts by all for a hilly, challenging race! JH Ski Club coaches were out cheering for their student-athletes. Course was in excellent groomed condition- with a bit of windy blasts, sun. Here are a few photos, enjoy!

Frosty Moose!

This family of moose was contentedly lounging right beside the ski cabin this morning, relatively oblivious to the groomer’s attempts to get any work done.  It is not recommended to get this close to moose; however, as they were just outside the cabin door it was a somewhat safe photo op.

At Trail Creek it is a beautiful bluebird day, although the temps are a little cool with 11:30 AM readings being -14ºC/7ºF.  The Pisten Bully made a journey to Wilson today for a little rehab from all the recent snow; hopefully it will be up to snuff and ready to groom lots of snow by tomorrow.  The Ginzu was called into action today, grooming mainly The Stadium and Sky View Stadium.  All skate lanes are in good condition and, while the National Forest classic tracks are a bit weak, the rest of the classic tracks are also quite nice.

Big weekend coming up!  Nearly 300 regional youth will be gathering for spectacular Nordic adventures.  More information about the IMD Intermountain Youth Championship can be found here.  Look for the fields to be quite busy from Friday afternoon through Sunday.

Groomer’s choice for today is some laps in the sunny fields.
