Bridger Teton: Leash Pups on Cache
FYI to Cache Creek skiers, fat bikers & walkers

“The Bridger-Teton National Forest is asking people headed to Cache Creek to leave their dogs at home or to put them on a leash due to a contingent of moose congregated in the trailhead area.

The nonregulatory request stems from an experience that Bridger-Teton travel planner David Wilkinson had Monday while checking on the carcass of a moose that was found dead near the Hagen Trail.

“The forest reminds recreationists to never push the animals along the trail or along the road,” a Bridger-Teton statement says. “Stop and wait until they move on. If possible, turn around and go a different way.”

Trail Creek Report

Last Updated: 3/15

Racing Continues!

A 15 K skate race is in progress this morning at Trail Creek. You can watch the action live right now at report time by clicking on the live video link.

Last night the Pisten Bully did a total rework of the USCSA Courses while this morning the Pisten Bully was once again hard at it on the Sandbag Final Course. The classic tracks were taken out today in preparation for tomorrow’s 10:30 AM 10 K freestyle race. Even if you have not been a Sandbagger this year, come on out and ski the course. Park at the end of the Old Pass Road and walk or ski into Mug’s Meadow. The meadow will have in addition to a race course, snow benches and a blazing fire so don’t forget to bring something to sit on and you could even make it a picnic if you like.

Word has been that things have been going well in Alaska where our very own JHSC racers are hard at it. Results can be found here and if previous live streams have not worked, you can try this one later in the day when racing gets started.

A pine marten left some great tracks near Armin’s today.

Groomer’s choice for today is to ski, watch races, and don’t forget to come out for the Sandbag Final tomorrow.

Come out and ski!! The sun is out and the skate skiing is awesome!! The classic track is groomed but the skate conditions are better. The next few mornings will start with cold temps so we recommend waiting until mid-morning once things soften up. March is here, so expect the freeze thaw cycle to continue for the remainder of the season. We are open 9am-4pm daily. Please give us a call at: (307)733-1733 with questions.

FYI…Our black sand operation is complete. Thanks for your patience.

Nordic Conditions continue to be very nice and should boast fast skiing. Look for light snow today followed up by warmer & sunnier weather. Be advised that Spring conditions are beginning. For the remainder of the season expect the track to be ever changing based on temperatures and sun exposure. Firm/icier conditions will generally last through the early afternoon and then gradually soften as temperatures warm. Overall, skiing should be very enjoyable!
Next Update: Saturday

Skate: Good  |  Classic: Good

I groomed the track with the ginzu on Friday night. I left the classic lane since it was firm and in really good shape. The skate lane was firm so I just smoothed out the tracks. It should set up beautifully by morning. Or even tonight under the moonlight…….

Teton Springs

Grooming Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday
Last Updated: 3/15
Skate: Excellent |  Classic: Excellent

Left the classic track alone; looks pretty solid. Reset the skate lane to corduroy and widened the track back to its prior glory 🇺🇸. Should be nice and fast by the morning. Come one, come all!

Yeti’s Loop

Grooming Schedule: As Needed
Last Updated: 3/13 @ 2am
Skate: Excellent  |  Classic: Excellent

Just finished grooming the Yeti. It always takes longer than anticipated…so much hair. Anyways, classic track is set for counter-clockwise skiing and the skate lane should be amazing. The trail is rather narrow so pay attention and stay in control.
Don’t forget about the orange donate button.

Enjoy!
