Access:
Starting from 9500 feet at the top of Togwotee Pass, access the trail at the summit parking area. Cross the road to the north side and ascend onto the snow bank to put on classic XC skis, avoiding skiing along Hwy 287 for the first 1/3 mile.
Description:
This trail runs through the Bridger-Teton National Forest, offering stunning views of the Pinnacles. It is quiet during the week but may have snowmobile traffic on weekends. The route cuts a near-level traverse along the mountainside, avoiding the climb up to Brooks Lake via the main Brooks Lake Road.
Parking: available at Togwotee Pass summit parking area.
Skiing Experience: The trail provides varying terrain, with wide groomed sections suitable for small groups. Snowmobile tracks offer smooth grooming but entail longer distances with more ups and downs.
Winter Grooming: Skier and snowmobile tracked.
Dog Owners: Leashed dogs are allowed on this trail. Please be courteous and remember to pick up after your pets.

Directions:
Beginnings: Start at Togwotee Pass summit parking area and follow the direction of the snowmobile tracks heading east toward Dubois.
Trail Options: Skiers have two route options to reach Brooks Lake. The skier track offers a more direct route, keeping on the same elevation and saving distance. Alternatively, the snowmobile track, although smoothly groomed, adds 1.6 miles to the journey and includes more ups and downs. Both variations are shown on the GPS map for this trail.
Views: Enjoy panoramic views including Lava Mountain, the upper Wind River Valley, and The Pinnacles.
Return: via the same route or ski back along the main Brooks Lake Road to the highway.
