Dogs on the Trails

Just a friendly remainder, please remember to clean up after your pets in dog friendly areas, specifically the Wilson Centennial Trail. There are lots of mutt mitt stations along the trail to aid in clean-up. We encourage dog owners to make the extra effort to keep our trails clean so they can remain dog friendly.
For those looking for dog-free trails, check out Teton Pines, Trail Creek, Teton Springs, Grand Targhee and skier tracked trails in Grand Teton National Park.

Fastest in the West!

The pictures above are from last weekend’s IMD final qualifier race at Bogus Basin where the IMD team racers were determined that are going to represent our region at the Junior National Championship upcoming in Anchorage Alaska.  A record 7 JHSC members qualified this year; you can read all the details in a great article from the JH News and Guide here.  The first picture is the entire IMD team, the second one has David King and Mason Wheeler fourth and third from the left while the last one features our own Natalie O’brien and Kate Brigham third and fifth from the left.

Today at Trail Creek it is dumping once again with calm winds and an 11 AM temperature of -3ºC/27ºF.  Today’s grooming was double Pisten Bully passes of the entire Moose Chase Course.  Fresh classic tracks were set on the first pass with the second skate only pass to be completed around 12:30 PM.  The snow is falling at nearly 2 inches per hour so plan your skiing accordingly, but it is yet another one of those magical days to be out on the trails.

Groomer’s choice for today is the Moose Chase Course.

Shooting Star Grooming Report
Last Updated: 2/13

Storm skiing will be the story over the next three days as a potentially fierce winter weather system pushes through. Anticipate trails to accumulate snow after our morning preparations. Classic style skiing will likely be the more enjoyable adventure choice during this period for combating the ever changing conditions. Enjoy!

Next Update: Saturday

Déjà vu! Another 8″ in 24 hours, just for you! We’ve officially surpassed the 300″ mark and that means it’s time to celebrate! Slash some pow, flash a smile and say thank you Mother Nature for your tidings! And then of course, head to open mic night at the Trap from 3-6pm and boogie woogie. Like the snow dance, but better.
