A Few More Days!
You still have a few more days to make a lap or two yet this year although you’d better not dally too much if you need one more cruise around the fields at Trail Creek. Looking at the Pisten Bully you can see that many of the signs were pulled from the trails during yesterday evening’s grooming, but if you’re reading this report, chances are you’ll still be able to find your way.
The most recent grooming entailed double Pisten Bully tracks with fresh classic tracks around the perimeter of the fields and on most woods trails. Woolsey Woods, Moose Loop, and Homeward/Outward Bound do have some pretty dirty snow but the rest of the trails are amazingly nice for nearly April.
Tracks indicated that the crust in the East Fields was very nice yesterday morning so if you make it out a little early you can check out that option, the woods should be pretty nice most of the day, and the fields will probably peak around mid-day.
Groomer’s choice is to not dally if you need a few more skis this year.
Additional Note!
We are not done grooming yet, look for final grooming Friday night or Saturday morning. The private property trails will close April 1st but skiing on the forest will continue for who knows how long.

The trails continue to groom out well, and Nordic skiing should be quite enjoyable! Uncertain weather in the coming days could change conditions. Quite a few moose have been calling the course home for the past couple of days, so please be aware of a chance encounter – especially around golf holes #6, #7, and #8.
Next Update: Saturday
Grand Targhee Grooming Report
Last Updated: 3/28
A storm will drop into the area today, hanging out until Saturday. A moderate amount of snow is expected, softening up conditions mountain-wide. Today, expect 2-4″ of accumulation, breezy conditions with winds 11-17 mph, and mild temperatures with a consistent high of 30.
Cross Country/Fat Bike 15k: XC OPEN (Last groomed AM 3/28/2019, NO CLASSIC), Fat Bike CLOSED.
*Note: Sorry to inform folks that the nordic grooming cat with our classic track setter has suffered mechanical issues that are not able to be resolved for the rest of the season. Consequently, there will be no more classic track grooming for the rest of the season. However, grooming of the skate track and fat bike trails will continue as conditions allow.
Pinedale Nordic Trail Report
Last Updated: 3/25 @ 9am
Most trails have been groomed this morning. More or less 1″ of new snow. Warming up quickly. Expect trails to be good until late morning, then softening as the day goes on. There is a calf moose in Lower Surveyor Park trying to make a living. Please control your dogs. The cars are out of the Kelly Park and the trail has been repaired.
Alta Track
Grooming Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday
Last Updated: 3/26 @ 10pm
Skate: Good| Classic: Excellent
The classic track turned out pretty crisp in most places to make for great skiing in the morning while still firm. The skate lane took many passes to get smooth and somewhat level. I’m pleased with how it turned out despite the challenging conditions. It will probably ski the best with just a little bit of sun on it, but don’t wait too long or it will turn to mush! What beautiful spring skiing!

Yeti’s Loop
Grooming Schedule: As Needed
Last Updated: 3/13 @ 2pm
Skate: Excellent | Classic: Excellent
Just finished grooming the Yeti. It always takes longer than anticipated…so much hair. Anyways, classic track is set for counter-clockwise skiing and the skate lane should be amazing. The trail is rather narrow so pay attention and stay in control.
Don’t forget about the orange donate button.
Enjoy!
**3/26 – We will no longer groom Yeti’s Loop this season, however ski conditions are reasonable for classic xc skiing.
