Description:

The Snake River Sporting Club offers a beautiful groomed trail network, set along the Snake River and running through cottonwood groves. The trails are relatively flat to gently rolling, making it a perfect place for all abilities, groomed daily. No dogs allowed for guests.

With a wintering elk herd and bald eagles, wildlife viewing is a nice bonus (no guarantees, but a good spot for possible sightings!)

Start by checking in to purchase your trail pass at the Snake River Sporting Club (SRSC) ClubHouse Winter Sports Shop, inside the main ClubHouse. Printed Trail Maps are available. Classic and Skate ski/boots /poles and snowshoe rentals are available – we recommend you call ahead to ensure they have your size.

The Snake River Sporting Club Nordic trails consist of 2 sections, all beginning from the ClubHouse: “the Front Nine” (south side) and the “Back Nine” (north side). As you might guess from the names, the groomed trails follow the summer golf course adjacent to the Snake River. The printed map also shows names for the loops within these broader sections.

Back Nine Trails (includes Ranch trail, 10-11-18 Loop, and Trout Creek Loop): 5.3 miles: Start from the Clubhouse -Winter Sport Shop or continue directly from the Front Nine Trail. The Back Nine trails are a series of loops, so you can ski one or more loops in any order. Starting out on your right, facing north (away from the Club House), take the first loop (“10,11,18 Loop”), 1.1 miles. This brings you right back to the start, then turn right and follow the middle loop (not on printed map, but connects with the Ranch trail) nearly out to the horse ranch. Turn left, following the groomed trail out to the Snake River, then continue on the trail south to nearly to the same level as the ClubHouse. The loop circles back north to rejoin the original trail back toward the Clubhouse. Once back close to the ClubHouse, the Trout Creek Loop is a further option to add another 1.1 miles to your outing.

See "Snake River Sporting Club Nordic - Front Nine (southside) trail for the GPS map of that section.
