Daily Trail Report for 2.16.26.

A week ago today Punxsutawney Phil emerged and saw his shadow indicating we would have 6 more weeks of winter. Thank Ullr, the Norse god of skiing. According to the weather reports winter will be ramping up with some low pressure moving into the area these next few weeks. So get outside and enjoy it while we can, time flies like Johannes Klæbo on skis.

Groomer Updates

Turpin Meadow Ranch

The trail conditions at Turpin Meadow Ranch (TMR) continue to be ideal, characterized by well set classic tracks and a smooth skate lane. Put it on your calendar that the last day TMR is open is Sunday, March 15. There is only one more month to enjoy the groomed cross country and single track trails as well as the restaurant in the lodge.

Trail Creek Nordic

While not quite universal, more classic tracks were placed than ever before on most trails except for some of the still too thin spots.  Cle’s Climb and Mug’s Meadow are on the docket for grooming today. Snow is coming our way beginning this afternoon. Adding up the hourly forecast amounts through next Friday around 20 inches of snow is forecast to fall at Trail Creek. Groomer’s choice for today is a nice quiet ski in the lovely woods.

Teton Pines

The track is in great shape, fully open and groomed.

TVTAP

The skate lane was reset on Sunday morning at Teton Canyon, Alta, and Southern Valley. The South West facing steep slopes on the Alta track are getting thin, even bare in spots, so use caution.
