Resolve to get outside and enjoy winter

As we close out 2025 and head into 2026 we are taking a moment to reflect: it is with gratitude and hope that we produce these emails and maintain the JH Nordic Alliance website. Gratitude for our incredible community and for the wonder of the ecosystem that we are all entwined with, and hope, for fresh snow, meaningful connections and inspired adventures in the season ahead.

Looking back on an early 2025 BCXC tour on Shadow Mountain

General Weather – Sun in 2025, Moisture in 2026

Mountain Weather is forecasting that today is the last sunny day for a spell before more precipitation moves in for the end of the week. Today looks to be another lovely day to get outside in mild weather. Let’s hope the rain/snow line stays low!

Winter Adventures from Taggert Trailhead

A ski in the park.

Community trail report: Skied the park on Sunday, there is no grooming yet but the snow was great off of the inner park road where no people had been walking.

We just went down to the Cottonwood Creek Road (aka RKO road) to the top of the bench and back, it was BEAUTIFUL!

Thanks to the friend who sent along their trip report and photo, it is great to know that if you want to be on snow it is not too far away. Get out today and enjoy these postcard views if you’re able!

Teton Ridge Classic Sign Up

If you’ve been on the fence about signing up, this is your nudge: early-bird registration for the Teton Ridge Classic ends tonight, December 31.

Not only is this the best classic race west of the Birkie, all proceeds benefit Teton Valley Trails and Pathways – the incredible nonprofit that makes grooming happen for this race and for trails across the entire Teton valley all winter long.

New Year’s Sip & Ski

Get your crew together and celebrate 2026 at Turpin Meadow Ranch on January 1, 2026. Enjoy skiing, fat biking, or snowshoeing on the incredible trails and snow that Turpin is known for. Warm up in the cozy lodge where there will be drink specials for the day.

Round trip transportation is available departing Jackson at 10am and returning at 5pm. $65 for transportation and trail pass. If you want a ride, call to make your reservation (307) 543-2000. If no ride is required just show up and have a lot of fun!
