Daily Trail Report for 2.15.26.

It was a busy Valentine’s Day at Turpin Meadow Ranch, love was truly in the air… there was a purposal that happened on the ski track! Many congratulations to the happy young couple!
What blew me away in the ski hut yesterday was the number of people trying out cross country skiing for the very first time. Maybe it’s because of the Olympics or maybe it’s the blackout days at the Village. Whatever it is, I am grateful so many people are getting out.
Everyone came back to the ski hut with smiles on their faces, endorphins coursing through their bodies, and a desire to try skinny skis again. A few themes came up while chatting with the first timers. “Wow, this is way more fun and challenging then I gave it credit.” “People who cross country ski are really nice.” “I think I’m hooked, where do I buy gear?”
Personally my heart bursts at the idea of this community continuing to grow. It is an honor to introduce the next generations to the joys of cross country winter travel. Kudos to all of you out there being great ambassadors for the sport!

What’s Groomed Today?
Planned Sunday Grooming
Daily Grooming
Grooming schedules have been in flux this season due to lack of new snow and warmer than normal temperatures. If fresh grooming makes a difference to your ski plans please check the most current information which can be found on our grooming page.

Friends of Pathways (FOP) Update
It’s hard to believe the first winter grooming update for the Cache Creek Single track of the season came on February 13! The combination of low snow amounts, warm temperatures and rain have kept the snowpack thin for the entire winter thus far. Because of how single track grooming equipment works, in order to groom trails FOP depends on enough fresh snow to be compacted and cover the old snow surface.
Now that it’s snowed, they were able to get the snowmobile with the drag on upper Hagen from Bridge five to Bridge three as well as Hagen Highway. There’s a lot of ice underneath the new snow, which has bonded well in some spots, but not everywhere, so it’s a mixed bag.
Hagan, Hagen Highway, Sink or Swim, and Ferrins are open for travel but use caution. Before this recent snow Cache Creek Sidewalk had melted down to dirt in a lot of areas with the rest being icy hard pack. Use caution and please avoid travel while temperatures are above freezing.
The weather forecast looks promising so there’s hope that we can get into a regular winter grooming schedule later this month. In the meantime put on your yaktrax or studded tires and enjoy!
