Trip Reports: Where to ski today?
Our friend Karen D. has shared some locations where she found that snow is holding well. We will all be grateful for the forecasted refresh, but in the meantime know that there are trails worth traveling to while we wait.
So there might not look like a lot of snow upon arrival at our favorite destinations… but do not let that discourage you! Turpin Meadow Ranch groomed trails are in very good condition! We usually ski the lower meadow (pictured above) which was fast and fun. Then to the lodge for a delicious lunch (think spicy chicken wings and soups and hearty food). And then to all the upper trails which were fun, fast, and feisty! We did not have time to try fat tire tracks, but plan to do so next time. Only a little over one hour from Jackson to Turpin (on good roads)!

Exploring far and wide is good for the soul! Reports had circulated that Shadow Mountain was not fit for Nordic travel, but several folks have found otherwise! And the views are spectacular! Skins are highly recommended for both skiing up and down the road – but off-road was found to be soft and fluffy in places!
